VEGA IS FINALLY HERE, ITS IN STOCK ALONG WITH SOME EPIC BUNDLES & FREESYNC DEALS!!

Well I waited patiently, bought a nice freesync ultrawide monitor just 3 months ago in anticipation.

Finally saw that they wanted £450 for a crappy blower cooler Vega 64 which just about trades blows with a 1080FE, and a whopping £640 for a AIO version that costs the same as a 1080Ti but is about 30-40% slower.

After I stopped laughing, I composed myself and decided to give up on PC gaming for the foreseeable future and go console. I will cut my losses and try to sell the ultrawide monitor and recoup some of the money I spent on it I think. I'll go back to a lower resolution 16:9 so I can at least use my current PC to finish the games I have left.
I'll let you into a secret. If you stick to 1080p like me. GPUs are a bargain! (well, actually still obscene because of mining) I sold my 480 for £350 and paid £219 for my 1060. YOLO

Am I right in thinking Decent 1080's can be had from proper retailers around the £450 mark? Then who in their right mind is buying a Vega 64 (which trades blows) at £550?? Am I the only sane person left? Is it miners then?

has to be the case, there is no way in hell there was enough excitement around vega that had 1000 people lined up with money today to sell them out

Lets get one thing crystal clear here!

Launch MSRP $499, a $100 reduction for launch, regular MSRP of $599, check a site such as newegg for confirmation:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...BESTMATCH&Description=RX+VEGA&N=-1&isNodeId=1

UK launch MSRP £449, a £100 reduction, yes we got a full £100 which worked favourably and much cheaper than you can buy one from US, remember US is excluding taxes. Now launch pricing is finished, so £549 which falls in line with $599 MSRP.

Sure if you like 1080p at < 100 FPS. Like 40-55 FPS mostly.

Even for 100Hz 1080p the 480/1060 doesn't cut it. Heck even for guaranteed 60 FPS minimums the 480/1060 isn't enough, at 1080p.

If you know where to look it's easy to not pay tax on a lot of online purchases. I'm not saying its legal or ethical but its easy and common place.

I've got a Gigabyte 1080 OC WF3 on order for just under £460 should be arriving in the next couple of days. AMD have lost another customer, can't remember the last time I had a NV card it was so long ago.
