Its more I believe that everyone else realised that it really isn't worth the money! The only people who should be buying this is die hard AMD fanboys or people stuck in the whole freesync ecosystem. To everyone else this time round Nvidia are a better buy
 
Put it this way.

There's people on things like 290's whom would have paid ~350 almost 4 years ago. They can not get an upgrade for that price as it currently stands. It's absolutely ludicrous. If AMD never removed a performance tier then they should have a 300 pound upgrade to a Fury X type performance but they don't, instead they've got to pay about 300 pound for a 580, and get 290X performance in return.

Jump? .... They would need to push me at this price
 
Its not all about AMD though. Some other big things happened in last 4 years. Any price you want to quote over that time frame should be dollars, AMD doesnt produce any hardware here so the exchange rate is interference in any interpretation of their actions or failure to act.

In short it kinda sucks how long people had to wait and really I see that as being another 2 years for things to pan out. Vega doesnt finish launching till year end probably

Oh yeah, obviously there's the current UK self destruction going on. Cheers Boris.

The 290 launched at 400 dollars. The Vega 56 launched at 400 dollars on its special price.
In 2014 the 290 fell to 300 dollars.
 
Complaining about UK prices is kinda moot, considering the exchange rate for sterling right now. Go for dollar pricing and you get the reality. Unfortunately the "limited release special MSRP" debacle is a joke.

I don't care if it is AMDs or the retailers fault but it's the consumer who are getting shafted. It's as bad as the Nvidia special founders edition prices for 1070 and 1080.
 
Ended up pulling the trigger at 380... much like my 64
Orders still processing clearance so doubt I'm on the delivery list.

Price is a pish take but tbh, will get 200 for my r290 I've been cloning on to forever so it's not the end of the world (that's if this order goes through, if I'm on the back orders again may end of binning it for a second time depending on eta).
 
I bought it when was over 10 stock but I got the message on the orders page "Pending Quote - Payment not yet confirmed" but the payment went trough paypal. Anyone with this isue?
