Veganism

Humans are part of nature. Humans have a desire to rape and kill their neighbours. Should we accept it as part of nature being cruel?

Well veal tastes good, I don't see anything good coming out of raping and then killing (or killing and then raping, whatever floats your boat) the next door girl, I just don't see why there is so much protection over animals. We are on the top of the food chain and if we like to do something with an animal so be it.

No problem. Just make sure you give it a thorough disinfecting before I get it back.

See, I told you cannibalism had its place.

*shaky fist*

On topic, I hate people who preach. About anything. I don't care what other people eat, look like, believe in religious wise, anything as long as they bloody well leave me alone to get on with my life.

My boyfriend is the biggest meat lover I know. He ate a whole pig while we were in Blackpool last I swear. I love watching him enjoy his food!

Oh, and I've been vegan for 12 years.

being a vegan must make life very difficult, cant wear leather, wool, etc. have to avoid gelatine which is in most sweets & cofectionary as it is derived from cowhide ,
I guess they shouldn/t use plastics & pertroleum products either, in other words practically everything around us is derived from oil which in turn is derived from microaquatic animals that lived millions of years ago

Do you find that the majority of the vegan community is female? Its just I've noticed a lot more female vegans than male vegans (I'm no trying to insinuate anything there, just an observation).

Yes. We're all big hairy lesbians that want to kill men and steal their sperm.

I have no idea. I don't consciously seek out other vegans so don't know very many.

I'm going back 14 years but I've got relatives who WERE vegans and they were typical University Students into Greenpeace etc.
They had their first baby and as soon as he got off his baby food they started to feed him vegan food.
My kids would be eating chocolate while he was eating celery.
A few months on and he became very ill and when the doctor found out what they were feeding him he threatened them with the authorities unless they fed him properly.
He's 14 now, he's weird but very clever and all the family reckon his weirdness was bought on by being fed the vegan food at an early age.
He now has 3 sisters (12, 8, 5) and its nice to see they all go to McDonalds now.

Eat what you like but don't force it on your kids.

I don't know if I agree with that. Obviously your relatives took it to extremes, but surely it's the parents' right to choose a diet for their baby, and so long as it's sensible and healthy I don't see a problem with it.

I don't know about vegan diets, but it's certainly possible for a baby to eat a vegetarian diet and grow up perfectly healthily. I have a couple of friends who've never eaten meet in their lives.

I found some vegan shoes i thought they were a really good idea :)
Personally i think its up to the person and who are we to judge, people can live perfectly healthly as veggie or vegan so why not do it. As long as they don't try to force their oppinion on people (which i have found is rare from experience with vegan and veggie mates) then i'm happy to comply with their wishes.

Haha, yes. It's comically depressing that whenever you ask what someone's opinion on vegetarians is, you get a load of responses along the lines of "It's fine as long as they don't ty to force it on me". Come on people, do you really think that there's some massive vegetarian recruitment drive trying to guilt trip everyone into leaving meat alone? Most vegetarians have exactly the same "live and let live" policy that you're espousing.

It's as bad as people making "Gayers are alright so long as they don't shove it in my face" type comments, as if getting hit on by gay guys or seeing two blokes meating each other in public is an everyday occurence.
