Veganism

I have nothing to increase the comedy gold of this quote, so I'll just quote it and admire your work.

Ahh, it's good to see that, in this politically correct world where everything has gone barmy, you tow are still worried about doing chores for the men-folk;) Theose rascally vegans/veggies could learn a thing or two from you ladies:D

OI! Back in your box

I also hold the same view as Roberta, funnily enough. I can't stand people who preach, whether they be anti-meat or pro-meat. You pays your money and you takes your choice. I'll eat what I like thank you very much and it's none of your business what choices I make. I'm an omnivore, and I have my set of reasons and beliefs on why I want to be that way.

What also annoys me are these people who tell you that they're veggie and then eat chicken or fish. Well, either you are or you aren't love, make up your mind.

On topic, I hate people who preach. About anything. I don't care what other people eat, look like, believe in religious wise, anything as long as they bloody well leave me alone to get on with my life.
Couldn't agree with you more there.

I have no idea. I don't consciously seek out other vegans so don't know very many.

Ouch. Thats not what I was suggesting, by the way.

I can see why vegans think milk is bad, dairy cows now are no more than milk machines and after a few years all that is left are walking skeletons. Why is veal cruel? They are just baby cows who are killed in the same way as other adult cows. People who eat meat but object to animals being treated supposedly cruelly should spend a little more time researching farming, its not all green grassy fields and content cows, farming is inherently cruel, get over it and go eat some meat! ;)

As others have expressed why do vegetarians think that fish is ok to eat but not mammals? Why are fish a lower form of life than cows, chicken and pigs. Then i also wonder a lot of the time why both vegans and vegetarians think that eating vegetables is ok, they are living things and are pulled out of the ground or off the tree (although eating seeds ie nuts, apples etc. is ok) and processed and eaten just like animals and fish.

The cows are transferred to tiny crates shortly after their birth, which are too small for them to turn around in, and are largely kept in darkness. They live like this for 12-14 weeks before they are slaughtered. This achieves two things: it makes sure that the calf's muscles atrophy so that the meat is tender, and it gives the meat its distinctive pale colour.

No worries. I'm just the wrong person to ask seeing as I can only speak for myself and don't see myself as a mouthpiece for a community.

And?...

As i said dairy cows are sucked dry and live not particularily nice lives, chicken spend their entire lives in tiny cages if they are layers or in a shed with 1sq foot of space each if they are bred for meat (just as cruel as calves treatment). Fish? well they are suffocated to kill them... live with it, if you want to eat meat and dont agree with any of this buy your own cow and a few chickens and produce your own meat, eggs and milk.

Oops :o They're all so similar.
Didn't realise you were related to Vogons though :D

And you said that veal came from calves who were killed in the same way as other cows, which clearly isn't true. Most cows don't live their lives in a box in darkness.

Sorry i see your point there :) , i was replying to the part of the quote about cruelty, although it has to be said that they will still be killed in the same way, a bolt through the head.

If that is being done in the UK, then it is against current UK Law. However, it may be true for foreign meat imported into the country.

I don't understand how these cruel ******** can treat defenseless vegetables in this way. :(

Eat meat! Support Vegetable rights!

Remember, kids - The rarer the animal, the better it tastes!
