Vegas Hotels

There is a lot of choice but only a few of them are any good. Take rotty's advice:D

How would you rate this over say the Venetian or Trump?

I would choose it over either

Trump is a nice place but the loaction is an issue

Venetian is not wearing well though I do like the Pallazzo though it is still a nice place

One great thing with the Platinum is they do not put the prices through the roof on weekends

You all seem to have vastly bigger budgets, I have to save money so I can spend a billion dollars for a night in a crappy hotel in Yosemite park as well

I can remember staying in a lodge in Yosemite 10 years ago before it got flooded out, that was very reasonably priced but basic. Had a fantastic view of one of the falls.

I am only talking $100-120 a night

Bellagio for me out of those, is a really nice hotel. Location is perfect as well imho.

Always a lakeview room, 2 months to go then back for a well needed break!

There is/was a 25% off voucher code knocking around for Bellagio as well.

lakeview room is a $50 a night premium though

I've stayed at New York, New York. The rooms are fine. Nothing special but very clean and everything works. We had a decent view over the strip too and never had any problems with noise from the roller coast. :p

We quite enjoyed staying there. New York New York attracts quite a young crowd and the ESPN bar was handy when we wanted to watch Spurs vs. Newcastle live at 7am local time. The locals eating their breakfasts looked a bit perplexed when Dawson got sent off and we shouted at the TV. :)

If I had to choose between the three though and money was no objection, I'd definitely go for Bellagio simply because it's nearer the centre of the strip. MGM and New York, New York are just about opposite each other.

Yup, but in grand scheme of things not that much and worth it for us.

Always had a good stay there, only problem is now the other half won't stay anywhere else when we go to Vegas, she could have picked a cheaper one to like :(

Ok Rotty, opinions please :D

MGM Grand Deluxe Room or West Wing room: £45 a night

This place seems to have 8 pools and a 'quarter mile river'. Sounds pretty awesome, is that basically a free waterpark for guests?

Hard Rock Hotel £35 a night but with $15 per night resort fee, Casino Tower Mountain View Room.

Golden Nugget 25 quid a night (What!? For 4 star? How?) with no resort fee. Thats for a 'Carson Tower Deluxe'.

Treasure Island - Deluxe Room £38 a night

Thats what I've found tonight. Any thoughts?

I ought to explain my requirements - just after a nice room, nice pool etc. Not interested in gambling, drinking, etc. Distance from the strip isn't a huge concern either as I've got a rental car. I'm not going to Vegas for gambling, I'm going to tick a box and visit the Grand Canyon :)

Have a look at Planet Hollywood too, excellent location and the rooms are very spacious, normally pretty good on price.

Don't bother with the Golden Nugget or Hard Rock as they aren't in the best location.

MGM is deluxe is bigger but dated , West is nicer but smaller

Hard Rock is stuck out on its own with nothing close, nice place but not for me

Nugget is in the Downtoen Area ( Fremont ) , I love it down there but probably not for your 1st visit

TI at £38 would be my choice, the rooms have been refurbed recently, the place has a lively vibe but is good fun

obviously you are aware of resort fees, I think TI has a $20 a night fee so make sure that is included
