Vegas Hotels

The West Rim appears to be 120 miles away and is where the Skywalk is.

What is the practical difference? It still looks pretty awesome to me?

Sorry to barge into this thread but I am looking at going around the October half term holidays for 4/5 nights with the wife (not with the children, will try to leave them with some grandparents) just trying to see what sort of deals are available or which sites are recommended for looking at?

all assistance appreciated, and Fox, hope you have a nice time :)

it's good but not the GC

be aware that to enter the west rim area and do the skywalk was around $75 each last I heard

re that Wynn rate, trust me it is amazing, it may be a mistake as the site shows when folks last booked and its every few seconds

I cant get hold of folks I am going with to make a decision but as it is cancellable I am prob going to book and decide later

I would suggest you do the same :)

You all seem to have vastly bigger budgets, I have to save money so I can spend a billion dollars for a night in a crappy hotel in Yosemite park as well

Stay outside of Yosemite. Inside the park is EXPENSIVE. We stayed in the Best Western in Oakhurst, approx 1.5 hrs from the valley floor- maybe less. Depends on how many days you want in Yosemite buy my suggestion would be unless you are want to spend quality time with the lady (read, intimate time ;), get a mid range (100$ per night) hotel and spend the rest on food/beer/etc.

Same in Vegas. Anything like what we paid was a waste, we had an amazing suite in the Encore but I am not a basketball player so was not having parties in my room every night.....

try the fatwallet vegas thread for deals

flights are cheaper if you take a connection

Oct is expensive as the weather is superb

avoid the weekend if you want good rates

you tell him that a tower suite ( junior suite in reality ) in Wynn for $70 a night plus resort fee is an amazing deal :p

Oh and RE Vegas. Stay in a cheap hotel and walk around the Wynn/Encore etc. The pool areas are small and hot.

Want shade? You need a day bed, $300 a day to you sir. Still to hot? You need a cabana, $500 a day plus a minimum alcohol spend, sir.

Heed the advice from Mr Rotty, get a suite and spend the rest in the gun store/malls/peppermill lounge/wherever.....just not on your room.

Issue with that is that my planned itinery has us leaving Vegas and heading to Yosemite via Death Valley. I figured its too much do to Vegas to the outskirts of Yosemite in a single day, so was going to stay about 3-4 hours away and spend the afternoon/next morning in Yosemite?s

well I have booked and will decide later

I love Wynn, Parasol down is great and we are booked into Alex for a meal while we are there
