Very dissapointed

Yes the phone lines need to be opened for such cases, the excuse of black friday is not really good enough now. This seems a new thing from OCUK, never not known them to resolve issues quickly and be easily contactable. Not good :( .

Come on guys sort it now, this is an expensive purchase and should be dealt with accordingly.

@MrThompUK I did think you were jumping to conclusions when they didn't reply within 24 hours but I would have thought some resolution would have been done by now and at least to confirm to you they are working on it and trying to resolve the issue with your new pc.

Also I did ask you if you are using your own monitor and cables or was it part of the pc package you purchased as you didn't reply to that as the issue may still be the monitor or cables used.
I am using the cables I already have, I have x2 1.4 DP cables which should be adequate, I have plugged them both into my TV and still no image, also with my 2 monitors. I tested my 3080 in the new PC before packing it up, though it let me boot into windows, it was 2 seconds of windows then 2 seconds of blacking out, constantly. Also did this plugged into the TV which is a 4k LG 120hz, also tested with x2 HDMI 2.0 cables. Same result.

Power supply issue seems likely.

Have you actually requested a refund at this time?

If you haven't then RMA/ship replacement is maybe your best option. You're unlikely to get a refund in time to order something else before xmas and the way RAM prices are then that might not be great.

Oh I have had a reply this was regarding a ticket I put out on Saturday 6th asking where my PC was as I was supposed to get it then. Anyway he replied on the 8th so emailed back and he's said he can not do anything because he is part of the sales team, and due to number of product enquiries due to black Friday they're trying to catch up and may take time to respond. Black Friday was 13 days ago! Yeah think I'll be getting my coinage back and going elsewhere.

First impressions, and all that.

Sad for you that the situation has got to this point where the support offered so far has been woefully inadequate.
Perhaps more so considering how much you have spent.

I wish you all the best in your refund and future purchases.

It should not have been like this for you.

I can't get in touch with anyone to get a refund, or request an RMA i did speak to a sales team member but his reply when I asked if he could get me an RMA was that he doesn't deal with them. And I've emailed him back requesting a refund but he's no longer replying to me.

Update, there phone lines are now working managed to speak to someone actually a helpful chap, sending it back requested a full refund :).
Confirm that refund request by raising a ticket. It doesn't really matter whether they get back to you or not but your bank will want to know if you have to go further - and a phone call isn't the same as putting it in writing.

Glad to hear you're getting somewhere :)

did that in my ticket mate that I would like a full refund, they have closed the ticket acknowledging that I've asked for it :). They said they'd test the PC and then in 3 - 5 days proceed with sorting a refund out.

Glad to hear it! Now they just need to sort out @gregorG after the hassle he's had!

It's been an experience that's for sure, fingers crossed he gets sorted. :( it ain't a nice feeling.

It's not something you expect from a company like this, especially when it's rival manages to cope fine whatever the season/sale/demand.

Wow, this was a shocking read mate!. I've not ordered anything from overclockers for a few years now, I'm getting back into PC stuff again and thought I would take a look on this section of the forum and was shocked to read this!.

I ordered a pre-built from them a good few years back and I had a nightmare back then. I thought maybe it was just one off.

Glad to hear that you got your refund.

It's also happened in this thread:

and in another, the OP was messed about with a refund and communication, and then it turns out the staff had lied to him:

Just a counter experience. I recently did an RMA for a faulty 7900XTX and it was simple. Filled out the online web ticket, got a reply within a few days, OcUK organised a next day collection for my GFX card. After a week the card was tested as faulty and a refund processed, all done easy via e-mail within 2 weeks in total.

Most people don't find waiting 'a few days' for a reply acceptable really hence why having the phone lines open is preferable and it looks like this case was resolved with a quick call in the end.

2 Weeks! That's shocking.

The competitor always answers the phone, whatever the time of year/sales season, usually in under a minute.
Your item is collected the next day, then arrives back with them the next day - it's then tested on the same day as it arrives back with them, or at worst by lunch/afternoon the next day, then they ship you a next day replacement.

So TLDR, by day 5-6 you have your replacement, as DPD offer 7 days a week next day delivery.

That is how it should be done, and always has been for the 20+ years that I've been buying/RMA'ing from the competitor.

Exactly, what if your PC is used to WFH etc - you cant afford/allow to have your business/joke grind to a halt, just because of the negligence of a parts supplier, who clearly can't handle any form of pressure/demand, to the extent that they shut off their phones for weeks - this has happened many times over the years.

Sadly I haven't used OCUK since they sold the company on. Service took a nose dive at that point.
The barcode place has been so consistent and they're 10 mins away for me so RMA turnaround is same day I can pop in and stand with them while they test it and give me a replacement.
Its disappointing because OCUK have always sold a few things with more choice such as RAM.

When that "other" place used to have a smaller shop, going back many years, they had a large cardboard sign above the counter. It read....

"You have dealt with the cowboys, now come to deal with the Indians............"

always made me smile.
