They did ask me to return my old 30Mb modem once but I just said I would have to charge them for my time to send it back.

Then I had a phone call telling me a tech would be picking it up between 12pm and 5.00pm I said ok but I will have to charge you for loss of wages

So they said forget it..

They never collected the old modem when they sent the Superhub. They did provide a return box for the HD digibox though for the old SD one.

I've had 50mb for a few months now and the disconnects are really starting to drive me mad now.. So I'm gonna get a new router but what's the best setup?

Got my 100mb setup yesterday

10mins after the man left, 11.9mbps on a torrent

I love this connection!

People moan about fail hubs ect, just don't use the wireless, Disable it and its fine, I only have my pc on mine and its fine

Not true buddy... the wireless has been disabled on mine since the day I got it... it's been crashing 1-2 times a day... just locking up, requiring a manual reboot...

seriously ?, whats the point of having a wireless router if you can't use wireless ?, virgin have done a bodge job, they know it and are taking their sweet time to fix it.

and as crinkle says, disabling it doesnt work all the time either,pure luck of the draw

thats the issue, sometimes the firmware will not turn of the fail-fi and router that's built in because the firmware is also a major ****up

fix it or ditch it.... but they wont do that, because they wont be able to screw with connections liek they want then, they want complete control over each individual connection should they wish

i dont have a failhub, and i wont be dtching my expensive working wifi router in favour of something that doesnt work

So all these months VM have been messing about with R27--no it's now R28..forget that it's now R29(nope)..R30 is here!!

And all they have done is a bridge mode that you could do from the word GO.
You still can't SSH to the tub so no
Network alarm support\Telnet\SNMP\QOS\Dynamic DNS lient\OpenDNS\jumbo Frames ect that VM could have turned on :mad:

VM are first up against the wall when the revolution comes

The first BT Home Hub was terrible as well, takes time to sort out issues like this tbh.

If the guy who fitted your superhub left the old modem then he was either an idiot contractor or you had an old modem from an older now obsolete account.

When a tech adds 1 piece of equipment onto your account to replace another that tech is then accountable for the old equipment.

If there is no old equipment showing on the account then he wont be accountable for it

I had the superhub and they left my old modem, still ahve it in attic.

It died again today... so the reboot this evening automatically picked up R30... finger's crossed this fixes the memory leak for me
