Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Just ordered 50mb, fed up of the issues since July with TalkTalk, been with them since they first came out as TalkTalk and have had a good 5-6 years out of it. Can't wait to be wired.
 
lol, its going to be a hassle, and also i have been waiting very eagerly for the 28th to get it installed and running. ah well, an extra tenner a month = a few less beers a month
 
Thinking of moving up from the 30MB package to the 50MB package. 30 has been great, and I've only had it like a week! But the traffic management during peak times is annoying, not so much the 9am-3pm, but from 4pm-9pm, 5Gb doesn't really seem like enough.

From what I gather, only the upload is shaped for the 50MB package if you go over their limit? Not the download..yet?
 
Just ordered 50mb broadband on it's own, with the £150 cashback via quidco it wOrks out the same price as bt infinity and it's 50mb not 40mb and also a 12 month contract!

Also, I'm using TP-Link 200mbps homeplugs, will they still allow the full 50MB throughput? They are fine on 30MB, getting full speed, but will they cope with 50MB?

It's not just the download increase, there's also the upload increase and freedom from throttling to also consider.
 
Had 50mb for about 3 weeks. Upgraded from 10mb. Wow what a difference, especially the upload :) Had a couple of issues with the Superhub wireless though....

The freedom from throttling is pretty much the reason I'm considering going from 30 to 50MB. The bandwidth increase is just an added bonus to me! :p
