Yeah same, was just issues on Tuesday early and late here.No issues here since Tuesday evening at 7:30pm ish (Hertfordshire area)
Cancelled my virgin today after 6 years since another provider is now available.
Used WhatsApp to cancel so it took alittle longer (1hr 30 from start to finish) they offered me 1gig for £45, no doubt I'll get a phone call but I'm leaving them anyway.
Having been with Virgin for a long time now and on there top broadband package - 1 gigabit where do we think things will go in terms of development and speeds for the future especially with the current backhaul etc, my contract is due to be renewed soon and considering my options

They're trialing 2.2Gbps down and 100Mbps up in some places. They plan to roll out their own fibre network by 2028 with a lofty goal of symmetrical 10Gbps being possible.
As for what to do now, Virgin have demonstrated time after time that being a long term customer is usually worse off. Personally, I'd just give my 30 days and jump ship to whatever good deal you can find. Virgin may well come back to you with a deal that makes you want to stay.
Similar to when I joined, I don’t want your other products! My contract end date is June/July.
So will go Vodafone ideally on a 12 month contract as toob are apparently installing in our area from next year.
Loyalty discounts exist, you just have to be agressive in getting them, ring them up, cancel, they will ring you back with offers, they even currently have an automated retention deal offered when choosing thinking of leaving. So true, 5 years with them and they just don't care. The customer service does nothing but offer the same package at a slightly more expensive rate each year. There is no such thing as loyalty discounts etc.
If there are 2 providers in the area i would be more inclined to jump between them at the end of each contract to get the best deals instead of trying to haggle.

EE operate this way as well now.Yeah that's what i did and they offered me the same bundle that i didn't want and wanted to change but even then they still wanted me to take that bundle with the tv package and phone attached even though i use neither of them.
