Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Looks like some simple QoS rules would massively help improve the responsiveness of your connection while doing those sync jobs

Thanks for prompting me to stop putting it off and actually sort it! I switched to fq_codel and spent a couple of hours tuning it.

There's still room for improvement, but it's better than before (the big spikes are firewall reboots).

Quelle surprise:

Virgin Media investigated over contract cancellations...

Good. They should force them to have a cancel button. It was not hard for me to cancel but it was for a family member so it does happen.

I tried to cancel last Wednesday via whatsapp and it wasn't until the Saturday that I finally managed to do so. They kept never responding or taking hours to repeatedly go through ID&V. A horrible experience. They kept wanting to know why I am leaving like I had disrespected their honour.

Of course they cancelled 30 days from the Saturday and not my request of Wednesday.

With this news of cancelling stall tactics from VM, if out of contract couldn’t people just block the outgoing payments via their bank?

What would VM be able to do, because you wouldn’t be breaking contract in this situation.

The contract will state that to leave the contract you must give notice.

In future if I have no interest in renewing, I will cancel via recorded post.
