The final stawer for me was when i was in Stafford Town Centre, not a huge town, bit a county town non the less and the data was so slow i could barely load a webpage. Ive since moved to Talkmobile (Vodafone) who are superior in every wayThought it was just bad in London. Nope, bad everywhere else.
The bit I was puzzled by is that it handles travelling at train speeds spectacularly badly. I used to log on to work or steam stuff on WCML/ECML trains but after switching to O2 this was impossible.
O2 is unbelievably bad is so many areas I frequent. It feels like I used to get more reliable mobile internet when I used WAP!Thought it was just bad in London. Nope, bad everywhere else.

Yeah O2 are dire. I moved from EE and wish I didn’t. I get a work SIM with Vodafone so I’ve just been using that as the main data SIM.I've found the bundled TV missable and the O2 network frankly unusable. Community Fibre is now an option.
OR availability has nothing to do with VM’s capacity or infrastructure in a given area. That said, since LG came in they have made massive improvements behind the scenes to standardise services and improve efficiency, but that had started post merger and it’s not always obvious.Ive personally had a positive experience with VM's broadband, the Gig1 speeds are consistent even during peak hours although I think it helps that Openreach FTTP has long been available in my area alleviating contention issues I guess.
The TV has been good too, I miss some of the UHD Sports channels but for the price i oay vs Sky I really cant complain.
Indirectly, I would argue it does, if VM are the only provider in the area to offer speeds in excess of 80mbps ie an area with FTTC and VM only then there is likely to be more uptake on VM's broadband offerings in turn leading to over localised utilisation of a cabinet/the local back haul vs an area where FTTP is widely available and as such less strain on the VM network.OR availability has nothing to do with VM’s capacity or infrastructure in a given area. Also the TV side is horrible. When VM sold Flextech and withdrew from the BBC partnership in Dave etc, they gave up any ability to negotiate favourable terms with actual content providers. Last I looked they were pulling pre-encoded streams from other providers and then re-encoding them again which was hot garbage to watch. It was especially amusing when you would get fault calls because someone had hit the remote and the feed box and the EPG was up.
I mean, it’s a lovely theory, but you honestly can’t think for a moment thats actually how VM capacity planning works?Indirectly, I would argue it does, if VM are the only provider in the area to offer speeds in excess of 80mbps ie an area with FTTC and VM only then there is likely to be more uptake on VM's broadband offerings in turn leading to over localised utilisation of a cabinet/the local back haul vs an area where FTTP is widely available and as such less strain on the VM network.
My current contract with VM costs me £43 per month for Gig1, whatever the top TV package is including Sky & TNT Sports, movies, a second box and Netflix. Ill take an epg being shown on screen for that much although to date its been very reasonable IMO
Anyone had any joy getting a Hub5 out virgin. Currently have a Hub4 and did the LAG to get full speed. Contract up and everytime I call just get a foreign call centre who can't understand why I want a 5 when the 4 supports my service.
Do I have to cancel to talk to someone over here?

I got one in Dec 23, my hub 3 (I think) had it a long time, started dropping the wifi, took about 3 phone calls to India with the usual swich on switch off stuff, the guy said I would be getting the same hub to replace it, however we we received a Hub 5 which has been really good.Anyone had any joy getting a Hub5 out virgin.
