Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Been having so many issues recently with my connection. It's either the network or the hub but for days now I have to wait 10 seconds or more for a webpage to start loading. Tried different DNS servers, reinstalling network adapter, resetting hub etc etc.

Going to move my pc tomorrow and plug directly to the hub and if no better will have to ring VM and complain.

Never had an issue before but trying to get work done at the moment is so frustrating!

Still not fixed for me. Web browsing is still slow but not timing out any more. Downloading is awful.

EDIT: It's fixed, just needed to restart the hub

I'm honestly so fed up of this now. It's stupid. Never had problems before, and now for the past month after 7pm I'm getting these terrible speeds. It's pathetic.

I have had no end of issues with my 50mb service I asked Virgin to cancel the service today. They informed me I was under contract and must pay out the 11 months remaining. I explained that the service is not working and has not been since they installed and I will not pay for something that is not being provided. Virgin's response to this was "Tough"....
I have now cancelled my direct debit and advised Virgin to collect the equipment and cancel my service.
Virgin are awfull beyond a joke. I thought you could get no worse than BT but today Virgin have proved otherwise...

If they can't provide a decent service then I'd cancel direct debits also.

The issue on the 29th and 30th was actually with routing though a bt node. Providing domestic virgin fibre is the same as business fibre.

Can you avoid paying for the whole contract period because of this?

They told me similar that I'm locked in for 12 months!

I won't be paying them unless it is sorted out. They are failing to provide the service they have agree'd so I see that as them breaking the contract to supply.
I should be getting a call from one of the senior customer rep's tomorrow to work it out but tbh I have had enough. Unless they come up with miracles they can have it all back especially as I'm on the top pack with Tivo phone etc...

I've had the worst service from VM in 5 years. The past 2 weeks have seen horrendous speeds and terrible lag when gaming. I signed upto thinkBB lastnight. How does this compare to others?

My beloved BF3 is unplayable from 6pm until 2am. That cannot be just peak time usage surely, even if it is, its disgraceful.

This morning speeds look OK. By lunchtime this tends to go down to 100+ ping and less than 2MB speeds.

You need to call them right away and complain about upstream contention and over capacity.

If you get through to India you will be fobbed off. Pray you go through to someone that has a clue. Start getting a reduced bill for that terrible service and demand a fix date.

Mine was in a similar state and took 5 months to resolve....

If you can, after you have reported the issue, report it to the ISPA, this will really get the ball rolling.

Also check on the official VM forums here check your postcode see if anyone else has complained.

Thanks for confirming the severity mate. Phoned Inidia and also posted on VM forums for a rep to see. Heres hoping!

The most frustrating thing was the weeks of telling them it was screwed and them pinging my CMTS and telling me "no its fine!"

I wanted to punch someone at VM.
