You're not extra special :p Everyone on 50Mb is getting 100 then 120 and everyone on 100 will get 120.
 
100Mb customers get 120 and a price drop to current 50Mb speeds, essentially all 50Mb and 100Mb customers now will be on the same price and tier.
 
Just so everyone knows, in April the prices on Virgin are going up across the board.

What's been released so far:

M+ TV subscribers package will go up by 50p
L TV subscribers up by £1.00
XL TV subscribers up by £2.00

L broadband up by £1.50
(Other tiers not yet known)

'Evening' call period is moving from 6am-6pm to 7am-7pm (which is ultra ******, in my opinion)
Call prices up pretty much across the board

New TiVo customers will be £5.00 per month not £3.00 (this stays at £3.00 for existing people)

Paper billing going up by 25p to £1.75
 
Mainly seems to be TV subs. We already know XXL/XL broadband pricing scheme anyway, that should remain at the previously released prices (£35).

I've been keeping an eye on my line the last week+ and so far I have no complaints at all really:

The 100Mb update will be the real tell on whether my hardware will keep up with LAN usage thrown in. WNDR3700 gets a lower LAN+WAN combined throughout than the Asus RTN so if that's the case I will buy the Asus to replace this but so far I've not had any bandwidth issues so hopefully it remains that way.
 
Great so if XL goes up then our bill is around £104 a month, hopefully the XL BB doesn't, ridiculous amount per month.

He won't deal with them directly as he's a busy man but his people will deal with your issues and call you etc, usually quite fast too.
 
Just got a rather nice letter through the post from Virgin...

100Mbit price (or, they quote it as my specific 'bundle') is dropping by £7.75/month along with the increase to 120/12Mbit.

Nice! Such a bargain... that's 120/12 for £22.50/month :D
 
Obviously the letters were written weeks ago as mine today said I was being boosted to 60 :p
 
Oh boy, I am paying 13.50 ish for 8-12meg and 1.3meg up adsl amd lately speeds are like 512k days, bethere mentioned it was more than deffo the filters. I am thinking of mpving to fibre if ii can get it. What ate setup fees like, torrenting snd actual speedss
 
There is no setup fee on Cable for new customers really, there used to be an admin fee of £30 or so but many people bypassed that, unless you meet FTTH on BT managed lines?

If you mean Fibre, as in cable BB via Virgin then torrent is just fine, the usage and performance is no different to any other BB connection.

What is different though is your actual speed, you do genuinely get what you're paying for pretty much 100% of the time.

Unless your area is congested ¬_¬ By the time the doublespeed upgrades have completed, the congestion issues should be entirely gone because the upgrade is more than just bumping up speeds, it involves hardware upgrades throughout the country to support the extra loads and make room for all the new stuff.

Well the last time I spoke with Virgin, downgrading the net would end up costing more because we are on this VIP package. I only care about the BB, others in house care about the tv etc, hd channels as we got a new tv, the sky channels (sports and films)

the fees get cheaper if you add a phone line i think. was playing around for ages to get the best vfm

I'm on XXL BB and L TV and got the small phone line for 64.99 a month with a tivo box :/

Getting the first 3 months for 14.99 too. I worked out that it would all in all cost me £30 a year more to have the phone and tv aswell. Than to just get the BB as you get the 3 month discount and the cheaper installation fees. 6 month spotify premium is worth it too.
