This area has already been upgraded apparently!
My upstream is 16QAM on both channels though, not 64? I do have an attenuator (10dB) attached to the coax that the engineer who originally installed the SH1 said was needed, so I'll remove it and see what I get.
By the way, speedtest gives 187Mbit down and 21Mbit up, so those are all fine. I've updated my Thinkbroadband quality graph, so will leave that running 24hrs and check the graph to see what the overall quality is like on SH3.
Should be noted the Hub v2 only had 8 channels down before!

Same here, lol. Getting a couple of Mbps over 70Mbps is so great in my opinion, haha.![]()
Also the 70Mbps package (if you have access to it) is probably the best and most efficient package in my opinion - it's not too fast and it's not too slow. It's just about right for everything, can't go wrong with it at all.

I seem to remember seeing a virgin staff member on cableforum say that the system doesn't show them when or even if they sent the letter to you. It's not definitive proof but the amount of people able to phone up and use it as an excuse to get out of the contract or get a lower price before they've even been sent a letter would appear to back that up.Well, I just got off the phone with retentions and tried to leave the contract due to the line rental increase. The fella said that the no penalty period ended on 01/11 and said I had received a letter notifying me of the increase in August which I have no evidence of as i scoured my paperwork when I saw it mentioned. He said there would be a cancellation charge of £140 and gave me £30 credit. There are also contention issues in my post code which means my 150Mb runs at 60Mb in peak hours and not much better out side but that wasn't enough to free me from my contract, he said any deal would time me into another contract and didn't want to do that unless i was satisfied with the performance.
They'd probably put line rental up again so I'd get a free get out/ negotiating tool within the year anyway so maybe it'd be worth calling again and seeing what the offers were?
ive had 200 since it came out and havnt seen past 90, debating to phone up and say just drop me on the 100 since theres no point in paying for 200 when im no where near it
So it appears that the modem in the SH3 is poor compared to the one in the SH2. I've been monitoring my line since upgrading to the gamer package from non gamer, and the thinkbroadband graph has much higher latency spikes than the SH2 did.
And this thread on VM forums shows the same findings: http://community.virginmedia.com/t5...ncy-Cause/td-p/3271492/highlight/false/page/3
If there's no word of a fix for this, then I'm going to complain to VM and downgrade back to 200Mb on SH2.
