Why does this have no real attached values to it?

The only time value is given to it, we are presented by a rather backward idea of religious moralities.

What are your views on the subject of Virginity, being a Virgin and losing your Virginity.

Sensible thread, I'd appreciate it if trolls stayed under their bridges for this thread. I'd like to know your opinions, and if possible female opinions on it.

One thing I was wondering is: men are pleased when the girl is a virgin. Women are not so pleased.

What do you all have to say about this?

Rather a generalisation that women aren't pleased if a man isn't a virgin.

My girlfriend is less than pleased that I'm not.

Well surely to men the prospect of virgin would indicate no previous contact with other men, so any offspring would be theirs. Pretty much like male lions and other species sometimes kill any offspring that are not theirs.

Not being a girl (but having longer hair then most haha) can't comment on their side.

I think Penski is calling a lot of women backward there :p Loads of women see it as being some intimate emotional "connection" and all that old tripe.

I had a really good experience loosing mine to someone worthwhile, I would have been a bit gutted if it had just been an awekward fumble in the dark.

Kind of wish I could go back and loose it again.

I don't hold any real value to the notion of virginity. For me, it's always been a religious tool, to albeit instil some sense of morality. And given history and that safe contraception is a relatively new thing, I can understand it had its place.

Speaking historically; it used to be believed, certainly in the east, that sleeping with a virgin gave you longer life. So it is easy to see where the desire comes from.

I do not want to sleep with Virgins. I want a girl, preferably a dirty girl, who knows how to give it as well as take it. And likes it.

For me, sex has always been about healthy exercise accompanied with an unbeatable feeling. Nothing beats a good, hard, shag.

I think at the time plenty of people place value on it, I mean there can't be that many people losing it to a prostitute or a one night stand surely?

You can pretty much guarantee though, your first time is both awkward and crap! hehe (at least I've never heard of anyone say their first time was amazing)

Interesting posts so far!

Are you all in agreement that its a backward notion or at least a Romantic notion, and that no real value should be attached?

mine was a milstone around my neck i wanted to get rid of! i'd not done the deed with many people before i met my current gf (now together 8 years). she was unflowered when we met, it's kind of interesting growing together in a sexytime way.

Ok my female opinion is that it's a precious thing to be cherished until you are married.

My male opinion is that you should lose it as soon as possible otherwise society will start giving you mental hangups about yourself by the time you actually should be thinking about losing it.

Anyone who places more value on sex than it being an enjoyable pastime is quite frankly backward.

+1

You can however, according to the papper (Sun), buy some students virginity off of ebay if you can spare 2.5 million

Some people really will do anything to get laid.

The only time virginity and the like really mean anything is when you're a virgin yourself. Once you lose it you realise that sex is just about fun and games, none of this emotional malarky.

although my girlfriend doesn't want to believe I've had a past and tries to convince herself that I'm all hers and don't know that other women exist.
