Vista Beta 2 Goes Public Today

Its should appear in the bottom right corner, you right click it to mount an image.

I know how to use it but after the restart all I get is the Deamon Tools run box again. If I then press run it takes me the to the same restart and installation will continue after box.

So i'm going around in a circle.

Is it installed ... C:\ Program Files etc ?

Returning to Windows Xp 32Bit SP2

Vista is very very good and I remember Xp final been buggy so this is quite a remarkable beta. However, as a photographer and needing to spend long ammounts of time in edit. I cant afford to have programs close due to beta bugs and OS unstability.

I look forward to a polished Windows Vista (Microsoft have sold me on this one. I really do like it a lot)

Just thought I would share that with you all.

It does look great, I will dual boot until I get fed up with it :) Gaming on my XP Pro install, and browsing and experimenting on Vista.

how much memory is the absolute minimum to install vista beta 2 on, I have a newish laptop lying around unused, would like to give it a wirl, trouble is it only has 256meg :(

Yep - 512Mb works fine on my desktop. 512Mb on my laptop was a bit painful though - not sure why.

MS also recommends 1Gb minimum for the 'Vista Premium Experience' - i.e. Aero and the like.

I think the strict 'won't-install-without-this-amount' minimum is actually 256Mb. But I don't think it'd be a lot of fun, especially with Beta 2.

Think you need to use version 3.33 as that works. Check their support forum there is a dedicated thread. Unable to test as I'm using 64 bit vista on which no virtual drive software operates! Back to XP now I think..

Anyone having trouble with audio jerkiness with a Realtek AC97 chipset? My work machine is running Vista lovely bar some problems with playing extended audio pieces (music, videos, Vista game audio). The whole PC starts to jerk like crazy.

Have tried the latest and several other drivers for the audio too.

what card do you have?
ATi Radeon X600 128Mb in my laptop.
ATi Radeon 9600 128Mb in my desktop.
ATi Radeon 9600XT 256Mb in a friend's desktop.

I notice you have an nVidia card. nVidia haven't really kept on top of the driver situation as well as ATi have, unfortunately.
