RTM is still set for October 25th 2006, then to business VLK users in November. Retail release depends on how long it takes for them to print it all - supposed to be starting January 07, giving them Christmas off.
 
can some1 confirm that winxp drivers will work for vista

as my im having trouble installing vista onto my via raid drive

my CD has the win xp drivers on, but vista says it cant find any drivers on the disk. If i continue without installing the drivers, the install gets to 6 % and gives me an error with a funny code number

surely if it didnt have the drivers to access the drive, it couldnt get 6 % into "copying files" ?
 
I uninstalled my copy of Vista X64. Damn graphics would set at 1360x768 and no drivers for my broadband modem. Plus couldnt even get into Add/Remove programs module. kept getting some kind of mmc error. Too much hassle so i removed it
 
now on my 3rd attempt to download it. first gave up about 1/2 way though for soem reason said it couldnt be saved.. even though I have 80GB saved. 2nd attempt downloaded the fulll 4.01GB but the file name was .iso.dl What the hell is .dl? any way couldn't get it to burn to dvd... so now downloading again. At least this time it just says .iso
 
I've finaly managed to download it and burn it to cd. However it goes thought the windows loading screen and then goes to a nice looking blue and green screen, You can move the mouse around but theres no options and it does nothing. This is before the instalation starts. Anyidea if this is a bad download or some other problem?
 
I couldn't get this to work on my ST20G5 as it can't see any drives and I can't find a driver for it :(

Oh well didn't like the shuttle anyway so time to change :)
 
could some give me there key so i can try it out? just downloaded img but have no key wanna test it on spare pc.. email me : james (at) myjunk.eclipse.co.uk

Actually, MS won't give you the links to the files anymore either - although they are in the OP. But yes, MS are no longer handing out keys.
