Vista Check List??

Not really GD material is it?

a vista spec check list... seems a little 'low end' if you ask me... but you know Mr Gates...

That system will run Vista with the Windows classic theme, you don't need much power to do that

15gb for the installation, thats going to need about 4 dvds alone to install from m that cant be right, 1 GB ram is a bit heafty ive only got 2gb

Ridiculous!

I bet it's full of all kinds of DRM crap... not to mention it's going to totally hog system resources with its fancy interface.

Gameplay performance will no doubt fall considerably as the OS takes big chunks of memory bandwidth away from other applications.

Roll on Vista

yes sorry about the wrong subforum... and I know 15Gb HDD space, AND only a 1 Ghz chip... he has to be joking!

Well, XP comes on one CD which is what, 650MB max? And the install size is 3-4GB. Thats 5x as much as the single CD. I'd guess one DVD will be more than enough.

To be fair, who DOESN'T have a hell of a lot more than 15GB??? Even pre built PC's at the low end of the scale don't come with anything less than 80GB.

And 1GHz isn't that fast...

Yeah i think i will keep xp, nothing wrong with it.

There's only so long you can keep using an OS for before they stop supporting it.

Although, look at Windows 2000. Before XP SP2, I used 2000. I bet it's still so well supported even today.

I guess that most things are going to come on DVD now... I wonder if Microsoft will use BluRay or HD DVD for Vista, if at all...

Put Windows Vista only on HD-DVD and force the world to accept their next generation of HD reading equipment...

The Windows UI is unloaded(that was the case a while back, don't think it's been scrapped) before playing games plus the UI is run through the graphics card so it's not going to hog any resources that most applications need

If Microsoft didn't include this 'DRM crap' I'm pretty sure you'd start moaning when you couldn't watch your new fancy HD videos
