Vista keeps on crashing...

Any news, or have u rma the stuff now.

they came to pick up the stuff for the RMA last night, just waiting for news from ****. They say it should take about a week to do the testing, and then they've got to send me it all back, hopefully with something replaced, so it will probably be a week or two.

Sorry to hear. Doesnt seem anything can go right for you mate. :(

Since you shouldnt have to trace it up just tell xxxx about it and they should be able to claim the insurance and resend you new parts. Or at least i think they should/would.

right my dad went into town, and got it from there, and had to prove who he was it seems they had tryed posting it to my next door neighbour, but they wern't in. aparently it was an agency driver

any way I've got it all back now, it's all fine, except the hard drive was faulty, so it's been replaced.

yanto.

Just red the entire thread and from a few pages back I have to say I was pretty sure it was a HDD problem. At first I thought RAM up until page 3 or so and then I was certain it was your HDD.

Glad it all worked out in the end. Hopfully.

yeah, I've just put it all altogethor, and I'm just installing Windows, so far so good :)

Try plugin the power lead in a diff socket could u and try it all again, sometimes the powersockets ppl use get dodgy so even tho its very slim possibility could u try it.

I asume you mean the mains 3-point plug?

I'll try it, infact I've been using the same adapter the whole time, I'll try just plugging it straight into the mains.

I've managed to install Vista now.

and I was getting some random BSOD's but they seemed to have stopped now.

I have all the sound/chipset/gpu drivers all installed, but I still can't get medieval total war to install, it keeps saying that the medium that my system is running at is different to the cabinet file, what does this mean?

thanks, yanto.

Medium is like hdd or optical drive/disc. Sounds like it doesnt like your dvd in the optical drive to me.

I'll try installing JTF then instead.

is there any need to run games like MTW, and JTF (because there older) in compatibility mode? and when older games ask if you want to update DX, presumably you say no, becayse Vista has DX10 installed on it, and it's backwards compatiable right?
