Vista keeps on crashing...

right so i just download the new bios and run it?
Considering how unstable Windows is i would be very reluctant to update the bios from within Windows.

Take a look at the link below, you will find all the info you need to flash the bios, also make shure you download and read the pdf file at the bottom of that page and read it very carefully.

How to reflash Motherboard BIOS

Also, i have looked at the bios updates for your mobo and it doesn't mention anything that may fix the issues you are having so i doubt that updating the bios will help, i could be wrong though.

I have also found this > audio seems to be failing which refers to the sound failing when you install the drivers for a Radeon HD 2000 series GFX, i know you have an NVIDIA card, but, the same fix may work for the issue you are having with the audio.

Not sure exact procedure mate but basically u could try putting the bios as a image on to a cd burn it and reboot and boot from cd and use Q-Flash and it should do it.

Tho if u can boot from usb stick then try that. It will either pick it up or it wont.

just got cpu-z to work, and my bios is the F2 version.

but cpu-z is saying my ram voltage is at 1.8, and the bios say's it is at 1.9v.

the cpu voltage keeps changing aswell.

It says the cpu multiplyer is at x6, and the core speed is only 1600mhz!

As SkeeterPSA has pointed out, for the G0 Q6600 you need the F4 bios, if you update the bios to F4 then the issues you are having will probably go away.

You could try the solution below to update your bios, it should work ok in safe mode.

1) Start your computer in safe mode with networking.

2) Download the bios from here > motherboard_bios_ga-p35c-ds3r_f4.exe

3) Download the Windows flash utility from here > @BIOS

4) Right click the .exe file that you downloaded in step one and select "Run as administrator" to extract the bios file.

5) Right click the @BIOS program file that you downloaded in step two and select "Run as administrator" to install or run the program.

6) Read the instructions very carefully on the @BIOS download page before you flash the bios, also make shure you use Method III to flash the bios and NOT "Method II".

7) When the bios has been updated, restart your system and enter the bios, set the bios to it's default settings then save and exit the bios, once this has been done you can re-enter the bios and change any of the settings that need changing.

Hope this helps!

yep thanks, I put some better quality pictures of those errors on the other thread btw.

I'll try doing it through windows like you've just described, I tryed doing it from my USB stick, but it wasn't recognising it in the Q-Flash utility in the BIOS.

@yantorsen,

I have made a bootable flash cd for you to make it a lot easier to flash your bios, just follow the instructions below.

1) Download the (created by me) custom ISO file from here > P35CDS3R_F4.iso < THIS ISO HAS NOW BEEN REMOVED

2) Burn the ISO to a CD using burning software that can burn ISO images to CD, such as ImgBurn here > ImgBurn, it's free.

3) Boot your system with the CD you have just created.

4) When you get to the A> prompt, type r: and press enter

5) At the R> prompt, type runme.bat and press enter and you will be able to update the bios to version F4.

NOTE: The dos flash utility & bios file are on the CD so all you need to do is type runme.bat at the R> prompt as explained in step 5.

Hope this helps!

Ah you'r back, thought u boogerd the bios flash as u aint been on for a bit. lol.

Btw when bios flash is done it might be wise to reset the bios with clearing cmos with the jumper and resetting the bios again to suit ** hardware.
