VMware Linux bigadv

Was running it in Linux Vmware, but...

I think I have resolved the issue now....

Removed the hack - rebooted (Linux Vmware) with Langouste enabled - then entered hack again - rebooted.

Error has now gone.

BTW, you have to be patient with me - never used Linux before - so I have no idea what I'm doing.....

Guess I'll now have to wait and see if they upload ok in a couple of days.......

The i7 930 is estimating just over 39k ppd - will see what the i7 860 says in a few hours.

As you can see from my linky above - I've managed to up my output to around 85k ppd but I still don't think it will be enough :(

Anyone having any issues with HFM and VMware?

Might be something to do with a router reboot but HFM states the system is offline, was working fine until about 40 minutes ago and I can remote into the system and it appears to be fine, running at full load. I also can't access the config using the ip stated!

The system is mac address locked to .112, the stated IP is however .118 in the VMware window.

How do I reboot the client without losing any work?

Which "system" is locked to 112? You know the VM has a different mac address to the host machine right?

Have you tried opening a web browser and pointing it at the 118 address? You can shut down the folding from the Administration screen there.

I do yes, the folding system is locked to .112, always has been, the VMware address is .118. Pointing a browser to .118 it doesn't do anything, takes a while but nothing loads.

I keep having issues with HFM and the VM Image in that every now and again the status goes grey and I have to re-add the client in HFM (pointing at the same IP address as it was before!) to get it to show the correct status again. Not sure what is going on, but I can live with it.

Simple things:

1. Can you ping .118 from the host?
2. Can you ping .112 from the VMWare console?
3. Can you ping or resolve anything from the VMWare console?

Well that doesn't work for me unfortunately. It has well and truely screwed up, problem is I have zero idea when the unit is due to finish. So I can't delete everything and start again without the risk of losing all the work.

Interesting, I'm not seeing anything like that. Both of you check the network adapter in the VMware image is set to Bridged mode.

1. No.... Destination host unreachable
2. No.... connect: Network is unreachable
3. No

Just click on the console in the VMware and type:

cat unitinfo.txt

That will show you the client progress, or you can type:

cat FAHlog.txt

Thanks that helped loads! :D :o

Is there a way to display the log in real time like CMD?

No thats normal

Check bridged mode in the VM Settings.

Then try turning off the windows firewall.

Yeah true, I just found it useful and it had things like the shut down and restart commands. Thanks for the other links, will give them a read.

Got FoldingTwo running VMware now and it has picked up a 6901. It would have been done like 2 hours ago but it FAH crashed again right at the start of the new unit and HFM didn't notice so it showed 99% for ages lol.

Also changed the RAM, which will no doubt end up being a mistake but ah well.

Is there anyway to get an realtime log viewer or something like CMD does with VMware?
