Vodka collection requirements

Hi, that polish żołądkowa gorzka is actually a caramel vodka, so my mrs tells me, shes polish, had it myself, didnt like it at all, didnt taste caramel thats for sure

if your going to drink a polish vodka then i recommend sobieski, its their most popular amongst the locals, of course there is also Żubrówka, the most touristy vodka with the bit of grass that the bison graze on inside, this is nice, almost cinnamon like
just came back from poland for xmas and bought 5 bottles back, so damn cheap over there

to drink the traditional way, all vodkas should be drunk in a shot glass neat, with a glass of juice on the side for a mouthful after to take any bitterness away, also drink the vodka with food, usually a plateful of cooked meats, ham, fish, anything you like to share, and never drink alone, always together at the same time

personal faves of mine are :
sobieski, plain and mandarin flavor
zubrowka (use apple juice on side, this is the recommended by makers)
lithuanian raspberry
smirnoff raspberry twist (not available in UK, WHY?)
absolut vanilla

i like mine flavored as i drink it neat, although the raspberry varieties taste fantastic with coke if thats your thing
1 last thing, never mix with beer, not even 1 can lol

happy new year folks

Some quite good advice there finga.
Polish or Russian by any chance? I once had a taste of some proper polish Vodka and it nearly took my head off!!

im english, spend around a month a year in poland though visiting family (in-laws)
only real difference in polish vodka is your guaranteed it to be 40% strength and 50% the price of it over here! Sobieski usually comes with a free 2 litres of orange juice in a promotional pack, bonus!
it does also taste much smoother, it is the national drink though after all
you should try the czech moonshine stuff, 90% proof, made from peaches, my god its like drinking petrol

I have a bottle of russian standard in the fridge, i dropped some raspberries in it to take the edge of it though

i forgot to say, vodka neat is best taken chilled, room temperature can give it a vapour flavour
