Vote: Chelsea vs Liverpool

The only one I'd say is a no contest is Crespo>>Fowler. I'd probably go with Terry>Carragher and I'm not sure who's better out of Cech and Reina, we don't get to see much of either of them. Cech I've seen play well for .cz I spose so it'll be him.

As for Gerrard vs Lampard it's hard to say. Since Euro2004 Lampard has been playing superbly and is a very good attacking midfielder. I'd say Gerrard is maybe a better allround player, and when he is good, he is very, very good and can dominate the game. However, Lampard is more consistent. So, hmmm. I'll have to go for Lampard on the basis of current form but it's a tough call.

For the purposes of the poll, it's:

Crespo
Terry
Lampard
Cech

But that doesn't really tell the whole story.

Crespo
Reina (I think they're about the same so I'll just be controversial)
Terry (never liked Carragher)
Gerrard (Lampard's goals are invaluable but if Gerrard played in the same system I imagine he'd get just as many)

I just think Carragher doesn't make a mistake where as Terry as seen on Saturday does occasionally. But Terry is better in the air. Oh change that to a tie between Terry and Carragher. As for the keepers, i think its too early to judge Reina after 6months, Cech was amazing last year but its been close between the 2 this season, but i'll give it to Cech because of last seasons performances.

If you had four Lampards in one midfield and four Gerrards in another which midfield would be stronger? That's the way I always ask my mates to look at the argument.
The way I look at it is Lampard is a lot stronger in his position than Gerrard is, and Gerrard plays as a one-man team. Lampard plays in a great team and still shines.

No contest really, make it a little harder!

However i don't think Terry is all what people make him out to be. He has definitely matured into a better player, but that's about it. The fact he has excellent team mates is what gets him the applause. You can see at times he can get 'stumbly' for Chelsea and England. I can see him making more and more mistakes, classic case was against Boro he should have totally dealt with Yakubu but he had no idea what was going on. OK this was one of many mistakes but I have seen him make plenty more which have not been picked up on or he has gotten away with. I think against the great superstars in the world cup, he is going to struggle. He hasn't reached his potential though, potential to be great.
