Vote for me!

This all began because easyrider asked a Don who was posting some results in his own thread to instead post the results in easyriders *official* thread, I protested because easyrider was asking the Don to merge two different set of results in the same thread (Core i5 and Core i7).

Easyrider then went on to state that Core i7 Lynnfield results should be posted in the Core i7 Bloomfield thread . . .:D

In general he has caused a lot of confusion and has reversed reality in an attempt not be wrong . . .you see he is never wrong!

I am was voicing an opinion in an attempt to make the technical forums a more useful resource, I am not sure sure the same can be said for easyrider?

You want Intel® Core™ i7 Processor results posted in the Intel® Core™ i5 thread? :D

You should have called it the Socket LGA1156 Overclocking thread! ;)

Its all about the CPU not the socket.

Keeps things easier to search and find on the forums.

860's and 870's clocks should be posted in here ***The Official Core i7 Overclocking Thread***

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17949771

Then you should have called it . . .

***The Official Lynnfield Overclocking Thread*** :D

And for gods sake put it in the Overclocking & Cooling section heh! :p

Lynnfield i7 is a different CPU, a different platform, why would you want them in the same thread as Bloomfield/LGA1366

Both are i7....

Who is trying to keep things seperate and logical and who is causing discord! :p

In this case you are very much right. Why on earth would you want a combined i5/i7 thread

should be three overclocking thread

i5
i7 8xx
i7 9xx

edit - seems big wayne is right.

Misinformation in this thread.

On this rare Occasion INTEL have the same Model CPU on a different socket this is the way forward. :)

Agreed?

Good! :)

Now can we discuss the section they go in! :p

ITs always been CPU's..

My threads,Jokesters etc...

Thats the first port of call that people to search when deciding on new upgrades.

Heh only since you joined the forums! :p

Anyway its a small point and as long as we get all the users lumped together posting and sharing results with the same kit then job done!

Polls up.

Don't Vote for yourself wayne!:D

Everyone knows that My idea to have seperate threads is the way forward. Not only in helping the OCUK community but allowing easier comparisons, tips and clocks:)

Busted! :D

I'm very keen to see some Lynnfield 860 results! :)

That review on Anandtech has peaked my interest.

Which chip have you bought easy?

So there you have it.

From the initial confusion due to i7 being on two different sockets..Big wayne agrees with me that there should be two seperate threads for i5 and i7 on socket 1156.

The truth is in the thread.

He then goes on to ask what I bought.

:D
