So I would prefer that a company value the fact that I'm a customer who bought my card from them 5 years ago and am returning to be a repeat purchaser rather than that I've been an active part of the associated community, but again, there's obviously a bit of self interest in me preferring OCUK to use that metric!

Its a great idea but still only useful to people who hang out on the forums 24/7 unless there is a set time for these drops...still too much luck involved being on the forum within a few minutes of them going live.

It was just pure random luck that I visited the forum for the first time in a few days, within a couple of minutes of @Gibbo posting the deal.

If they let you in MM anyone could get in, or it would take lots of man power moderating wise to add multiple other factors than a simple "1000 post / 1 year" rule.

The MM has these limits for a reason, to keep out scammers. Without it, i honestly wouldn't feel safe trading in there. Because of this rule i've never ever had an issue and if there was any doubts i cold always check the feedback made by other forum members who have dealt with them. This should never EVER be changed for anything imo.

The MM is a walled garden where (mostly) trustworthy individuals can buy and sell from each other. Without the risk of being scammed. I hope it stays that way.

If you haven't contributed to the community, that's no one else's fault.

I laughed when Gibbo said someone bought a 3060 for £10k. :D

Wonder if he'll get a refund anytime soon :p, i would drag this out aslong as i could haha!

100% agreed!

Would it not just be possible to match accounts to forum ids and only allow one item per user ? even if it was phone only with some quick way internally of cross referencing, I know some would fall through the net but surely not many ?

Could even limit it to a 100 a day or something to avoid over working staff, doesn't bother me as I have my card now but I would have rather bought from OCUK to be honest

100% - the high bar for entry it what provides that confidence in pretty much every trade

I sold something at the price I paid for it recently, and the next week it's listed on the bay with a £200 mark-up, not everyone is legit in mm.
