its not comical, you breached the trust of the forums and bragged about it. Only time will tell if your forum account get deleted or not as per the numerous warning people where told. And you can only blame yourself :)

Lets agree to disagree. If the guys at ocuk see this as an issue then im happy for them to reach out and ill happily cancel given the card hasn't been shipped yet.

I made my post after you placed your order and I am happy to let this one go on the basis your friend is not then just gonna sell it on.

But from now on let’s keep it black and white, only buy if it’s for yourself and to game on.

The whole idea of this is it’s for OcUK loyal forum members buying to give/sell to friends/family is not acceptable as they are not forum members.
 
Vince what you did gets a high five from me. People are really annoying me with there greedy and selfishness, over whats essentially a bit of sand. Ive been waiting for a GPU since November have used this shop since 1999 have spent tens of thousands of pounds year in year out at OCUk doing builds for family friends etc.

I missed yesturdays deal and todays due to being at work. But I think what you did is a very good deed and I dont think thats what Gibbo was trying to stamp out. Its more a buying for friends with friends money.
I'd much rather someone like your friend gets the card than half the people crying on here because they dont quite meet the criteria.

Ill just wait till the next round and hopefully can pick something up to replace my aging GPU thats really struggling to power 1440p. Till then, nice one mate I hope its helps cheers your mate up after what sounds like a terrible year for him.
 
Great ideas guys, im obviously new here and nowhere near the post count but good to see you're trying to get cards to people who genuinely want them.

As a side note whats the best way to enquire about some products you have eta's for (not gpus)? I imagine your phonelines are slammed atm with gpu talk, is the webnote the best way to go?

To be fair I did only read the OP and just re-read it to see if I had been an idiot which is perfectly possible... :) Thanks for the understanding and apologies for causing a bit of a scene.

use the customer service section of the forums, specifically pre-sales :)

Gibbo have you ever given any thought to allowing people members market access who have a lot of time here but not a lot of posts, I'm not one for posting a lot but come almost daily to read news and hardware gossip. It's a bit crap not being able to get on deals like this even after being here so long. Anyway appreciate any response.

I understand that Overclockers will now be implementing a voucher system for GPU orders

Originally I tried to order from the company but in both cases it got cancelled as the items were oversold:
  • OC4113356
  • OC4112939

I understand that currently the vouchers would only be available to people with 1000+ posts who are members six months or more. I do not meet that criteria, but is there any way I can be issued a voucher given that I've originally tried to place an order but it eventually got cancelled, please? I've checked the product pages every single day since the orders got cancelled in November :(

It's quite clear in the OP it's for loyal forum members. You only joined a few months ago. Therefore you don't meet the criteria. Folk have been here for 10 years and don't meet the criteria either.

There will be a public drop and you meet the criteria for that. So I suggest you just try and get one of those.

To be fair some of the new laptops are good value, as are pre-builds thanks to the current market prices of individual components.

the concept has many holes, nothing stopping being bought for friends, nothing to stop someone buying and slapping it on some other marketplace and silly prices, but tbh there is no way you can stop it, the system will be abused and those doing the abusing will get away with it, theres no way to make sure these get in hands of gamers, apart from turning up at their place and checking their system to see what gpu its got, but then theres ways around that, your dammed if you do and dammed if you dont imo
