VR - 8700k/1080 vs 2700X/Vega64

In all honesty for VR i would want the most stable Frame Rates, look there is no denying the performance of the 8700K, if its a consideration its the way to go, i would.

I’ve looked at benchmarks of the 8086k vs the 8700k both at 5ghz and the 8086k is still faster. Only probably 5% but every little helps. If this is a binned 8700k why at 5ghz would it be faster?
Its the same cpu with a different name and cap. I'd suggest where you seen benchmark differences the platform or something else was different, or it was within margin of error.

Ah right. The 8086k is still effectively a binned 8700k isn’t it? Gibbo said these. 8086k will all be the best of the chips as they are the first batch. The 8700k’s now struggle to get 5ghz often. For the sake of £80 I’d rather get a 8086k if I was going the Intel route.

If reviews are reporting any significant performance difference at the same clock speed i would question that shenanigans, they are the same CPU renamed and if any reviewer is portraying these as faster they need to be added to your lairs taking me for a fool list.
