**WANT 8GB 2400MHz FOR AS LITTLE AS £59.99 Inc. VAT? - THEN CHECK THIS THREAD OUT!!** (MV-3V4G3D/US)

Whoops, sorry there was a typo in my last post, it should have said 1.64v not 1.46v (I've updated). :o

So to confirm, 1.65v is ok for a 24x7 overclock with this memory? Is that the limit?

Cheers,

Matt.

I know some major manufacturers using this IC with 1.65 volts as stock. So if they are using it then I am sure its fine yes. I am gonna try some Friday and I will be putting 1.65 through em period!!!! I will post up my settings and overclock when I do.

@WaQs - What settings specifically have you changed to at least POST with overclocked RAM?

Same board, latest 10.5 bios, I cannot even post with the frequency increased from 1600. Have reset CPU overclock in the meantime, no change, no POST!

Cheers

try with 11-11-11-30-2t @2133mhz and set dram voltage to 1.64v,you might be able to lower it later

try with 1866mhz and 10-10-10-28-2t and set 1.64v dram voltage, you can try for higher speeds later

waqs had the same problem until he updated to latest bios then it worked, but youve update already?

Done, no change sadly! I was able to take all the sticks out and replace in different slots without taking the cooler out. If the ram were any taller there would be no chance!

More than one of us having trouble posting with OC'ed RAM on this board though, seems odd!

Yep, I've tried a number of different configurations, everyone has failed to POST.

It is definitely feeling like a BIOS issue. Did you have any success before updating? Unfortunately I didn't even try.

Has anyone had any success with the MSI Z77A GD65 with the latest BIOS?

Mobo: MSI Z77A-GD65
CPU: i5 3570K

Thanks 8 Pack!!

I'm still following 8 Packs recommendations to get the memory to run at 2400Mhz, but failling even with setting VCIO and VCSA I can't get the system to boot :(

I'm managed to run stable at 2133Mhz using the following settings 9-10-10-28 1T @ 1.64V

Edit:

I have power saving features at default, I've also managed to tighten up my timings now running with TRAS 21. CPU Overclocked to 4.6Ghz

Someone else will have to try, I feel sick after the frustration involved with moving RAM around with all four slots obscured by a massive cooler!

Anyone with a Z77A-GD65 please update...perhaps we need our own thread?
