**WANT 8GB 2400MHz FOR AS LITTLE AS £59.99 Inc. VAT? - THEN CHECK THIS THREAD OUT!!** (MV-3V4G3D/US)

Nice scores. That MVG is a great mobo to extract high memory frequencies. Many of the super high ram posts I have read have been aided by an MVG. It could go down as one of the great mobos.

ooh that gives me something to aim for

I'm using a MVG too

I'm running 16gb @ 2200 @ 10-10-10-30, 1.49V :) well happy

This RAM is pretty ridiculous. Just slapped it at this @ 1.5v, which is where it will stay for now but i will be happier with 10-10-10-28-1T @ 2154MHz @ 1.5v

Just a note for the other Z77A-GD65 owners, I can't get mine to post just bumping it up to 2200 from 2133.

I'm not an expert at RAM overclocking so will have a read up and play about as only adjusted the main timings and upping the voltage a little bit.

Yeah it seems odd, hopefully a future bios update may help, mine takes longer to post on 2133 but is stable in prime and pi:

Wouldn't pass Pi on 10-10-10-28 timings though and this was using 1.54v with Turbo OC to 4.3 but obv dropped back to low clocks in the screenshot.

Bob.

Have you thought about sending both motherboard and ram back and getting maybe the ud5 and same ram again while you have your 14 days

Even though the items technically aren't faulty? They run at rated speeds fine.
The mobo didn't come from here sadly, but from another major computer component etailer, the one based in Horwich.
RAM come from here of course! :)

@crinkleshoes - I'll give 2 sticks a go later :)

I was thinking more of the 14 day satisfaction guarantee but try 2 sticks first as using 2 sticks seems to be more easy to get better results.

Nice one :)

Lol... you're not having much luck with this ram, eh?

Surprised you have to take the GPU out. Guess that must be a difference between the GD55 and GD65... on the GD55, there's a PCI-Ex X1 slot above the first X16 slot... so there's a decent gap to get to the RAM clips for me. The H100 cooler = small footprint over the CPU = stupedously easy to reach RAM :o

In my case, the Alphenfohn K2 cooler engulfs every RAM slot!

Arch running, so now shutting down to try with just DIMM's 2 and 4! :)

Managed to post at 1866MHz with a pair of DIMM's in slots 2 and 4, but no higher.
I tried the same set of DIMM's in slots 1 and 3, and the other set too.

As posted earlier I could post at 1800MHz with all four DIMM's installed, so with two I can post 33MHz (66MHZ) quicker!

The code the board reads when it's failing is 55, if that means anything :)

Nope, I can make 1800 with 1.35v with two or four DIMM's
I can make 1866 at 1.35v with two DIMM's, both pairs in either slots

I cannot even POST at 2000 or 2133 even if I push the volts up to 1.5-1.65v
:(

Same story with a single DIMM :(
