**WANT 8GB 2400MHz FOR AS LITTLE AS £59.99 Inc. VAT? - THEN CHECK THIS THREAD OUT!!** (MV-3V4G3D/US)

Sorry for the huge pic, can make smaller if it's against the rules. Saw 8PACK recommend 21 TRAS, seems fine, wonder if I can go lower on any of my timings. Can't seem to get it to boot at 2133 though however at these timings im happy with 2000..:D hope it's stable.

At 2000MHz you should be able to get 8,9,9,21,88 1T with less than 1.65v ;)

Thanks, I will try for that, I was wondering about CL8! Gonna go test it!

-It didn't like 8-9-9-21, so trying to get to CL8- then CL-8-9 etc. testing lowering 1 at a time, it wouldn't even run those timings at 1.65V which I don't really want to do , I'm happy with 1.55V for now can probably do 1.5V though.

No idea but 20 TRAS is really good, how much volts do you need for that overclock?

I seem to need up to 1.6v for CL8 and 1.55v for CL9.

I trust 8 Pack, just was wondering if high ram voltage is bad for the cpu like on Sandy, I guess it's fine though. I'm using 1.6 for now. SuperPi in 7.11 so far (4.5GHz).

Speed is actually 2000MHz...1.600V. Think my timings are as low as they can go now, I haven't tried 17 but 19 was faster than 18 for some reason? :s Next thing to do is lower my voltage slowly but can't be bothered right now this took long enough.

AH, the benchmarks were 1Mhz apart which might explain the slightly difference. :D Very pleased with this ram and Ivy Bridge.

Also you said to lower something to 88, but I don't know which timing you are refering to.. :) ''8,9,9,21,88 1T'' which is the 88? :)

Its not bad for sandy to my knowledge. 1.85+ all the way and my CPU's clock the same and have same memory controller capabilities.

TRAS 21 is the ideal for this kit. Those are good tweak TRFC is the 88 well you shold tune to 114 then 96 then 88 then 74. But i doubt you will get this low without really slack thirds.

Thanks a lot, I'm gonna go try to tweak it again. :D

Also who else noticed this ram is on offer again cheaper than last week? £42 now. >_> Duno if theres any point in me getting 16Gb.

@8pack, I'm at 8-9-10-21-88 thanks again. Is there any more tweaks? :D

You probably don't need the extra 8gb.

What's your LB at? Post a screenshot of Memtweakit. I've managed to get mine down to 8, which apparently improves your thirds. (Thanks 8pack for that info)

Is going below TRAS 21 detrimental, if it passes through memtest and SuperPi? I've got it at 20 which seems to be fine but as you keep mentioning 21, I wonder if I should go back up to it?

Not having much luck pushing my FSB above 230, which I need to do to get my ram at or above 2000mhz, I give the cpu and ram a tad more voltage but no joy, I'm using AMD overdrive at the moment but have the same results clocking thru bios, in windows it just locks and in bios it wont boot.

BrianB, It seems that your 2000mhz clock is performing better than my 2400mhz, although I could be mistaken? it's a bit hard to tell as I have my CPU at stock clock atm, till I get my ram sorted.

I think i'm fairly close to my limit at 2400mhz.

What's the general consensus on timings vs mhz and where's the sweet spot?

I've just made a 2000mhz profile based off BrianB's with: 8-9-9-17- trfc88, lb8. It's memtesting now but it's been fine so far. I'll post screens tomorrow.

Need to get my head around more of the seconds and thirds timings.

So a couple of things i've noticed with the Digi power settings mentioned previously that others are using + my above mentioned ram settings.
The system isn't stable when doing Prime testing.... As in running it for a few mins just to make sure everything is ok.

Going back to stock settings and then just upping the multiplyer and vcore makes it work again, so either i've pushed my ram too much (is fine in memtest) or there is something wrong in the digi power settings?

I did notice that it was easier to get to x45 with stock digipower... Anyway, sorry his is a bit less ram related then it should be. Although I do think my ram settings are the problem

Hm, mine finishes in 7min22, so I guess it's performing the same as mine really since I'm at 4.5GHz. Seem's a really good spot, 8Pack did say to me that 21 TRAS is good for this ram so I loosened it to that though it felt fine at TRAS 18 too but I only really gained L3 cache speeds.

To overclock my ram I lowered each timing until system was unstable, I found them out for my ram that way. I left my voltage at 1.6v the whole time but apparently 1.65v is okay. Fast enough for me at 2000MHz I don't understand why I would need it to go any faster. :P

mmm just went to run Superpi and seems my "oc" is not stable ...

1m was fine 32m keeps bombing out 3 mins in

yet memtest86 was stable, was was prime, and I've been video encoding for at least 3 days constant and played around 14 hrs of Diablo 3 on current OC settings with no crash - bizarre

will try and up mem volts see if it doe anyhint to superpi stability

mm can't get 32M Super Pi 1.5 Mod - stable at all :( - I'm beginning to wonder if its the program itself -i t seems to fail around the 4.5-5mins mark

1m runs fine

running Windows 7 64 bit if that makes a difference

16gb

nothing else is unstable though as I said I've been caning pc for last week + with not one crash (including full sweep of memtest86 etc) -yet 4 mins of Superpi fails

I'll redownload tomorrow and check its not a corrupt install or something
