Want an extra 5GB storage with Dropbox?

Hmm, it appears that I don't have 5GB of photos or/and videos :( My mobile is the samsung spica i5700, so any images and videos that are taken are pretty small in size.

Could someone provide a dropbox link or something for the really long video of their mobile recording a wall, so that I can download it, move it to my USB pen-drive or 8GB SD card and then re-upload it? Please :D

Could you not select all the photos you have and copy them, then select all the copies plus the originals and copy them again, etc., etc., until you have 5GB worth? A bit tedious perhaps, but will work. :)

Hmmm.... so how do you upload from a pendrive? I assume this isn't just dragging them into the Dropbox folder, as it's supposed to be the new auto upload feature?

I don't see any options for Dropbox uploading when right-clicking on files on my pendrive. Am I being a little bit dense here and missing something quite simple?

Isn't dropbox quite expensive? You can get 20gb vps servers at 100mbit for 6 euros. And if you just want ftp you could get loads for that price a month.
Edit: Actually it's not that expensive, I think hosting prices have gone through the roof since hard prices have risen.

When you connect your pendrive, and you get that dialog box asking what you want to do with it, you should have an option for importing into Dropbox.

You need to use autoplay, if it's installed correctly there will be an option to scan for photos and import to dropbox. :)

Doh! So I was missing something really obvious! :o

Thanks guys. :)

Started this last night but my adsl max connection is taking ages, does this offer end any time soon as we have a 50meg up 50 meg down link at work and this would take moments there tomorrow :)

I have 3gb+ of photos on my sd card, but only a few mb were seen as 'new' and imported.

Does anyone know who there rest can also be new? Do I need to remove a hidden file?

BTW. this is a great feature!

Bah. Plugged in my ipod and it grabbed all the photos, uploaded them, and gave me a free 500Mb. Then I set my ipod recording a wall until it was full, plugged it in, it copied the file over and started uploading it to dropbox, so I went to sleep. In the morning it was still uploading, so I went to work.

Got back, the video has uploaded, but I'm now using 104.6% of my 2.5Gb quota. The vid has pushed me over the free limit, but also not increased the limit despite uploading it properly D:

Edit: Deleted the file from my dropbox and suddenly I have 4.5Gb of storage now. Yay!

Cheers, seems like a great way to get more storage! Usually use it for getting files onto my phone (music etc.) so will be useful not to have to delete files all the time!
