Warhammer 40k: Space Marine

Anyone playing this on the PS3 and having problems with online games ?

I 've been unable to get a game online all day, it searches, finds matches etc but continues to search. The Potential Matches count down to 0 and that's it :(

I've left it searching for about an hours but now luck.

I'm glad I've rented this rather than buying it, it's fun but the combat is pretty repetitive. I don't have a particular problem with there being no cover system, it does keep a fast pace to the action, it's just a shame there isn't much enemy variation and there aren't more varied attacks that you can do. Plus it annoys me that once you've stunned an enemy and do an execution to regain health, you're then stuck in that animation for a second or two, during which time you can still take damage.

It's fun, and I can see why 40k fans in particular will enjoy it, but it's just too lacking in replay value and too repetitive for me to consider purchasing.

Any idea on how many chapters? Up to 6, need this game finished and sent back to rental site so I'm not charged.

Its canny btw, repetitive, bit like the first gears without the cover system, but a lot more fun like the 2nd gears only with a lot less set peices.

Solid 7/10 and ts certainly not my kind of game/genre.

I've been playing this for the weekend and I have to say I'm really enjoying it. I like the combat style and personally I think the graphics are amazing! The environments are incredible and they've really captured the universe exactly how I'd imagine it, from the manufactorum to seeing a warlord class titan looming above you.

However, unfortunately it is pretty buggy, some instances of orks falling into the environment and picking up ammo seems a bit weird sometimes, plus a few other things that you'd expect them to pick up in testing. I guess either the release was rushed or they ran out of time, which is evident in co op coming in future DLC.

Still, whilst people unfamiliar with 40k may not fully appreciate the game, it does do the universe justice and hopefully they'll release more DLC in the future to increase the replayability of the game. So far I'd give it 8/10, hopefully the co op mode will push the score higher. :)

There's 16 chapters, you can check the audio log thing on the menu as a gauge of how long each chapter is :)

Cheers, up to 14 now, die loads like, and after 3 attempts console goes off, but I come back on an hour later and try again...really not my type of game but it's canny. Wasn't a war hammer fan either and like Nero says, I won't appreciate the world people imagined.

i ordered this on friday i hope it comes today

i was a massive 40k fan back in the day when i had hair lol

i used to paint and table top so looking forward to pummling a few orks

hope this turns up today.

Oh dear god. Fine, if you little girls need a cover system then no amount of discussion will help you grow a pair. Yes, relic did it for gameplay purposes, and you know what? It WORKED. It drives you into battle and forces you to attack with 100% commitment or die, and that IS EXACTLY WHAT SPACE MARINES ARE SUPPOSED TO DO. They might use cover, but not to the extent you little females would do had Relic implemented it.

Honestly, I think you;ve all stupendously missed the point of what Relic tried to do through your good little robot behaviour, instead of giving it a proper chance and trying to embrace it you bitch and moan and criticise. It took me a good few attempts of the demo before I 'got' it, and I'm glad I gave it a chance, because once it clicked I was hooked.

So, I'll be enjoying this game whilst you lot hide behind your sofa. Roll on tomorrow! :)

Cringeworthy post.

Each level of this game keeps blowing me away! Just passed the bit where you start up Invictus and seeing that badboy walking down the manufactorum was pretty mind blowing! Despite it's flaws, if you're a 40k fan you will squeee like you've never done before when you play this. TotalBiscuits video review was dead on, I bet he was foaming at the mouth playing the full game...
