Warhammer Total War Confirmed

You've played all the TW games and you consider this one of the best

Generals with power-ups lol. Or are they 'Heroes' now?

Dumbed down arcade rubbish.

Eh? It's based on the warhammer fantasy world, if you know nothing or care little for it then this isn't the game for you. Here's a hint, it's in the game title...'Total War:Warhammer' It's like you came into a fantasy game expecting a real world total war...you have Attila for that which is also a very good game following patches/expansions.

Sounds like griping for the sake of griping to me. No need for the sarcastic rolleyes...right back at you since you don't even own the game, yes I can easily say one of the best total wars to date. Pretty sure my opinion would be echoed by a fair few total war veterans. You don't even own the game so explain to me what your vehement hate for it stems from?

He's just butt hurt that they made a game for someone other than him.

I've never played a Total War game as they have never been interesting to me. TW:W on the other hand has been great fun. A nice, fairly tactical arcade RTS with cool characters and races appeals to me.

I didn't whine and ***** every time they released a TW game that I didn't want to play, I just didn't play it and carried on with my life.

Also bare in mind he's trolling like crazy in the Witcher 3 thread too so just ignore whatever he says.

Once all the expansions hit I think it will be an amazing game... but if they do expand the map further that will have to change something about conquering cities simply so your armies can be deployed and not take 40 turns to move across the map!

One bug I have now hit tice - the enemy army not showing up until they have 2 meters from my army. Luckily they can't shoot until they are that close either, but damn strange!

one issue I had with the game was the really small variety of races and even less variety on who you actually end up fighting. I'm finished the whole Empire campaign without ever really fighting Orcs, Bretonians or Dwarves.

Is that not because they are in cover on a hill/forest map?

I was surprised first time that happened to me :p

Fixed. Just the one ;)

Yeah fair enough, I apologise for indicating more than one ;)

Still, no point getting worked up over this if you don't what to play it in the first place, plenty of games make me thing 'urgh' just at the mention of them, so I don't bother commenting in the thread. Any genuine questions and I'd assume anyone will help you out.

He hasn't got genuine questions, think we've established that based on this, BF and W3 threads.

I play with Radius mod, generally its:

- More aggressive AI
- Upkeep vastly reduced for units, so loads of armies
- Adding a plethora of not so lore friendly units

Its good fun, for sure, but if you're into the lore, you wont be as happy.

If you are playing vanilla, I recomend getting this mod pack HERE as it improves the look of combat and the graphics by a fair bit without changing the feel of it ("Proper COmbat Mod" does change battle balance slightly, but its all with the idea to make a better looking battle.).

Do you need to restart your campaign to apply the mods or does it just apply over the top and you can continue your campaign?

Most of the ones in that pack you can just use and carry on, I tend to start a new campaign every other time I start up though so can't confirm anything. As long as it doesn't add any new units, you should be alright since stats/upkeep/look just go back to how it was before.

Brilliant, will give it a go later :)
