Warhammer Total War Confirmed

This game is very good, it's worth buying all the dlc too.

I have completed the below campaigns on very hard.

Chaos (also done on legendary)
Empire
Beastmen
Green skins.

I currently doing a dwarfs campaign on very hard and it's by far the easiest. Their economy is so strong compared to other factions that you easily afford 5/6 stacks of good troops.

If you play on higher difficulties the essential skill is the red tree one what that buffs your basic troops to plus 12att and def, some factions it does charge instead of defence.

Grombidal for dwarfs has insane campaign buffs in blue tree that benefits entire faction.

I found the Empire the hardest campaign, due to being in middle and possible getting into a war with everyone. Plus bearing the brunt of the even more powerful chaos invasion and Varg and skalling constant raids.

You can also play on very hard campaign and normal battle difficulty if you like. Just start a campaign on very hard, go into options and adjust the battle difficulty to normal. The Ai gets insane buffs on higher difficulties which can ruin immersion such as goblins spears wiping out drawf warriors with ease.
I'm holding off buying the DLC as I think it is still overpriced for what it is... I'm hoping that it will all drop when part II arrives!

You have no dlc at all, or just some?

The wood elves dlc is certainly worth the price, beastmen maybe no so much as they are like chaos. I assume you for chaos dlc free? If not then maybe get beastmen instead of chaos.

King and warlord and Grimm and the grave are both good, gives you regiments of reknown that are very powerful. King and warlord better though as you have two new factions to play with.

I am playing with a custom settlement mod at the moment, really enjoying it as I find the vanilla sieges boring. Worth trying out, some really good community maps out there.

Will be interesting to see if they release anymore dlc for game 1. I know there is one more piece of flc coming which will probably be todbringer and middeland as playable.

I would like to see a Kislev dlc with a campaign fighting the norscans and taking the brunt of chaos on.

I can imagine there will be a special offer on dlc just before game 2 comes out or maybe even warhammer 1 complete edition.

I'm really happy with the game now I've fleshed it out with mods. My only remaining grumble is not being able to bring more than two stacks of troops in to battle. That, and the standard TW problem of campaigns getting boring later on. Even VH is easy by turn 150.

I have all DLC except beastmen and wood elves... I'm not paying the same price as the main game for two factions and mini campaigns!

Which mods do you use? :)

Empire has OK difficulty even on Legendary. Is not like playing WRE in Attila.
You have to be on the push and not turtle in when you crush the rebels. By the time Chaos comes, you will have a huge area that will be protected, and many agents to kick the Chaos agents.
Which the the most important thing. Not allow them corrupt your areas, so Chaos can move without big penalties.

And personally the game going to be even better, when TWW2 comes out. Because is merging the landmasses of The Old World, with Naggaroth, Lustria, Ulthuan and the Southlands into a single map.

Yeah I usually turtle at the start, I try and do all the chapter objectives when I should really be rushing.

Chaos is pretty simple, as you can churn out chaos warriors by turn 3 and 4 and chosen a few turns later which kill everything early game.

Beastmen can also be hard as gors break so easily until you level up the gorbull for leadership bonus. Once you get Minotaurs though you become unstoppable plus the gorebull can take on half an army by itself.

What I like about this game is that all the factions play different, so much replay value. The huge campaign which will combine maps from game 1 and 2 will be awesome.

I know it won't happen but I would really like and underground map too when skaven arrive.

The only thing I don't like is those chaos chariots spammed by the Norse tribes. They are so hard to kill, I rage so much when I face like 7 or 8 of them that I usually autoresolve the fight.

Well, with the Steam sale I finally caved in and bought Beastmen and Wood Elves... will try out some custom battles to try them out. I do hope they add to the Beastmen roster though as it really needs improving with a few key units.

The way this game plays is so lame. Enemies never attack unless they have overwhelming odds.

Eh?

I want the WoodElves DLC but not at the silly price they are currently charging for it. I'm hoping for a sale sometime soon.

Bought this as it was on sale. Played the story canpaign and thought it was boring as you spend most of your time fighting the other elves and its essentially just loads of archers.

Gonna try using them in the normal campaign now and see if i enjoy thier playstyle against other races.

I've now completed my Total War series collection. I have every single Total War game on Steam and all the DLC for them. I'll give this a go one day in the afternoon this week because I'm excited to play it.

I bought it in the sale as well. I found them boring in both their own campaign and also the grand campaign :(

My favourite dlc of any total was has been the Bretonnia one - and it was free!!

I laughed when the wood elf DLC was still nearly £10 even in this sale. I would like to play it but I don't intend on ever paying more than £5 to do so seen as I bought whole game on release for under £25.

Wood elf dlc is far better value than beastmen dlc.

There is another dlc coming before warhammer 2. A race pack, I believe, not a campaign pack.

The only hint they gave was "cold" and will include some new monsters. Most people on official forum believe it to be Norsca but it may also be Albion.

Plus you also have the old friend Flc, what ever that maybe but apparently not a lengendary lord.

It makes no sense to be Albion... much more sense to flesh out Norsca or a similar Northern tribe.

Yeah it will most likely be norsca but maybe they also add Albion too as an additional faction or maybe put a settlement there as the islands are on the map
