I think the sieges are ok but definitely agree on agent spam. My counter now is to actively go hunting agents with mine and tbh it's been far less of a problem since!

On the battles, I actually enjoy that, I pause battles occasionally to survey the current weak spots and react accordingly whilst setting up powers etc.

I have both mods and they are very good indeed.
 
Playing a coop campaign with a friend and it can be quite handy having a second pair of eyes on the battles when things get quite busy. Especially as they can paint on the game to help you spot a unit that is running off chasing someone when he could be more useful nearby. Had an epic siege last night and really enjoyed it. They field two full stacks plus the garrison and I had one and a half plus some siege towers and a ram. Lots of archers and spells helped thin them out and once I took the walls it was all downhill for them.
 
Picked this up yesterday.

Playing through Dwarf campaign cause Easy, but ive never played a TW before. Started off ok, won all my battles... but then when the Ai tutorial guy stops helping out i get totally trounced by two Greenskin Warbosses with 20/20 armies each. I cant fathom how to exapnd to that size in that time in order to defend against it :confused:
 
Got a question, playing as Chaos still (our last save went corrupt) and what is the difference between cavalry and shock cavalry?
I can see that the shock cabalry has a bigger charge bonus, but actually has lower damage. :confused:

Is it best with shock cavalry to keep running out then charging back into combat?

I tend to use Shock cavalry to break formations or attack lower morale troops. I will pull them out of combat and charge if needed but generally I never even put them into combat in the first place unless I know I will break the enemy fast.

My first dwarven campaign got destroyed by those as well. On the second run I saw them coming and put as many units in my main base (can't remember its name) and let them attack. With the garrisoned units we won, then I hunted them down and killed the bosses.
 
I played 2 campaigns with agents on, then tried the mod to stop agents using actions so I could focus my agent use on battles and I had a lot of fun speccing them for combat. The new patch has stopped the mod working and agents are back on, unlike some I don't find them broken, but I forgot how irritating they can be. Much preferred when I combat focus them.

Vampire counts is very different. In a lot of ways. Totally different style of play with them. Can be a bit demoralising when your entire army disintegrates though!
 
Orc is just freaking crazy as you can't really defend without causing loads of grief, you just need to attack and snowball and Keep going. If you hit a lull it can be brutal though :p
 
i'm convinced Greenskins can't be beaten as Dwarf (Campaign, easy difficulty...). All advice is turtle turtle turtle, which is great until 5 stacks of WAAAAAGH knock on your turtled door.

This is the most challenging game ive played in recent years. Its fun.
 
With Dwarfs against Orcs I would argue the opposite is true and you want to be aggressive with the Orcs. Your troops are vastly superior especially early game so taking an "ironwall" of Clansmen/Lomgbears defending a horde of Crossbowmen and a few cannon and you will maul them. The idea around being aggressive is you stop them gaining enough momentum to Waagh. If you sit back and let them get up a head of steam you are on the road to a hiding. Keeping them on the back foot with low morale they won't be able to Waagh and without numbers you win every time.
 
Just played several hours doing the opposite. Build up two huge armies asap and go on a southern rampage.

The greenskins just hit every town you take and retreat exactly ONE square too far for you to attack them.

They're impossible to chase as dwarf, and if you turtle they build up too much speed against the AI towns.
 
Started an orc campaign as I found the vampire one a bit challenging.

My empire coop campaign is going well as I managed to defuse a terrible situation. I was at war with the vampires, two factions of men, and then chaos decided to get stuck in. My armies were spread quite thin and were bleeding me dry on gold. Managed to get the vampires to become vassals and one of the Imperial factions sued for peace and offered a load of gold too. Normally I don't go for peace, but it freed me up to defend against the oncoming threat of chaos and to crush the last imperial rebel.

Crisis averted!
 
Playing as Chaos again, mate upgraded to Windows 10 and we lost the last game.

Any tips on how to level up lords?
I've got a pretty decent army, trying to make some more, but they're just getting stomped by everything at the moment.
