Wasteland ARMA II Mos : Server Details

just finished for the night, pretty awesome except for the 4 or 5 TK's, most of the TK's appeared to be intentional, like firing a vehicle mounted LAW at me while I was right next to the vehicle :/
Peace scored a BTR-90 which I stashed in blufor base after he died from dehydration xD then the bugger scored a chinook o.O which is also now stashed at bluefor base with a busted engine :/ my fault.. turns out heli's don't like being parked on slopes xD


We had a good run last night :D
 
Yeah that was the only problem for me last night aswell, we barricaded ourselves in Cherno and Pyru had managed to get in. Steve and I shouted on TS anyone near a tractor and white sedan, someone shouted me so we left him alone. We turned round then got killed by him, as we didn't have scopes we couldn't make out the armour and paid the price!

Also someone on our team came driving in super fast, so we all unloaded only to find out it was a team mate. In my opinion it's my only problem with Arma2, but with tags it'll be so much better and much less TK'ing and being killed by people you think are friendly.


If it wasn't for that though, it was brilliant in any other way. Although I still think food though should give you more HP back as water is everywhere.

The problem is at range if you have no scope, it is so hard to make out the colours. Also if someone is in a vehicle then its almost impossible to make out the player driving unless you have a sniper rifle.

Also last night name plates were not coming up so it was impossible to tell if they were friendly or not from range unless having a Sniper of some sort.

Do not take this as me being a whiny so and so, i honestly in the heat of battle have big problems figuring out who is who. I and others last night had plenty of problems working out who was who, if we didn't all know where people were then all that being asked was "is that one of you guys" and we were all doing it. It kind of takes away from the fun aspect of the game when your having to work out who is who 90% of the time you play.

I am not suggesting turning the players to the colour of their team ie. blue/red but there needs to be some other way than the camo colour/markings to work out who is who. It could be something simple as name plates show only for friendlys, to some kind of icon for friendly's but no one else so it gives no advantages.

Civilians are so different, that its impossible to mistake them as anything but Civilians.

Well this is ARMA guys, this is how it works in real life trust me. If they are in a vehicle then yes, they should announce that they are coming to your base and if they don't they get brassed up.

I just really posted it for people that don't know what team wears what.
 
Ok server has been un-passworded!

No more civs, you are now Independent

Will add more player choices in later tonight, test it offline then upload if working!!

Still working on these stupid icons!

Was on the busy population server and they had icons over blufor that I was on that was good but I'm confident once they didnt render at about 50m so i dropped a guy only to friendly fire him :(

I dont know if you've been on that server marker but there is a much much better version of the wasteland mod/mission on there with independant on, worked pretty well.. quick respawns, more vehicles around and busy as! I dont know how you'd get it on your server I'll leave that to you but the food lasted longer, the missions were more frequent and different.. tanks, ammo trucks, armoured vehicles, choppers, plane/helicopter crash/loot spots. Looks like a lot has been added since the version you're using!

The icons were basically what you'd see when you press P for players and not obvious and not over the enemy!
