It's almost as if people have different tastes or something.
I finally managed to get my copy working, and it's okay. It helps that I'm a sucker for stealth games. There's a satisfaction to be had when completing an objective without ever setting foot in the mission area, just by hacking cameras and drones and whatnot. I'm playing completely non-lethal even when I do have to physically enter the red areas.
The main thing I don't like is not having a protagonist. I prefer controlling characters I can get invested in, not just former-NPCs with randomly-generated faces.
I'm playing with that mode where if they die they die and that's that. And if they all die it's game over. I found this helps me care more for the player itself where I'm more cautious, more stealthy, more trying not to get my character killed! Even if I don't particularly care for the protagonist, I care for their particular skills that I want to be able to use moving forwardWell yeah, that's how I meant it. It's such a huge difference in how different people perceive things differently. Ofc I know it's subjective.
I guess why I can really enjoy these games is that I actually don't care about protagonists & the like, I enjoy them for the world first and foremost, and so long as I can play around just doing whatever, I'm happy, if the world itself is well done, which I think Ubisoft always nails.
This is what I just asked myself as I watch the WaB. Is this set in the future or something and why is everyone dressed as a total clown? Is this how folks outside the Uk visualise London?Watchdogs is a weird one for me. I like the concept, but the execution is just poor.
I like the way the city looks and think I would enjoy exploring that. But the characters and story look damned awful. What is up with all the stupid masks?
Yeah. Stupid. Not a fan of Ubisoft anyway. They are the second worse publisher after EA for me and rarely get my money. This is what I just asked myself as I watch the WaB. It looks absolutely pants.
Thing is, I am coming from Division 2 that I play daily and the world in that is an absolute masterpiece in visuals and sheer detail. I watch WaB's review especially at this timeframe and hell it might as well be Saints Row for texture quality as the chap rides upwards on that drone.Yeah. Stupid. Not a fan of Ubisoft anyway. That's the one thing putting me off. If and when I finally I get my copy. I know I'm just going to stick with the same character for as long as possible. The main thing I don't like is not having a protagonist. I love the stealth aspect of this too and non lethal ways to knock someone out, it gives a different aspect of the game unlike gta where you either kill someone or try to avoid them. It's almost as if people have different tastes or something.

I had some CTD's but it turned out to be my overclock on the gpu being abit too high, some games work with it but some dont. Knocked my 3090 down to 2145mhz and not crashed since.Seems to be crashing an awful lot for me.

No worries, let us know how you get on. Can further diagnose if need be.#
Ah thanks maybe I'll dial mine down and try that.
Loved WD 1 & 2
Love the open world nature
London is beautiful and enjoying the city
Like the gadgets
So why am I so utterly bored by it? Done a couple of missions, recruited a few others but just zero interest in continuing.
Glad I got it via Ubisoft subscription rather than paying outright for it
I watched a 30 second video earlier today where someone was driving round central London and I saw less than 10 other vehicles on the road. Game looks great but there just isn’t even the same level of people/traffic as GTAV, and that’s what almost 10 years old now?
So much for progress! But the puddles did look good.
How many times have you flown through The Division 2's world to judge streaming like that? You can't compare it vs on-the-ground. The textures absolutely don't look like that during ground traversal.
Just look at this, even if you watch the building in the distance you can see the textures are still fully loaded in on LOD0 (the best). The game keeps the details high across much longer distances than usual.
