Watch Dogs - Ubisoft's Third Person Shooter

I really can't believe you're moaning about things to do. That's the best thing about it - that it's actually trying to do something different.

Indeed, very odd thing to complain about. If he's not going to play the game 'properly', then that's his problem really.

But of course, the reality is that we don't know how it's going to play or what options there will be for getting things done. I would imagine it'll be a Hitman-esque system of there being various ways of achieving the same goal.

The other interesting thing about this game was the multiplayer angle at the end of the demo from the ubisoft press conference, looks like it possibly has at least online co-op.

For anyone that hasn't seen it, at the end of the demo at the press conference instead of driving off in the vehicle the camera cuts back to another player watching the aftermath of the car crash from a rooftop who is shown being controlled by another guy on the stage.

Came to post this ^

Shows it at the end of the video, hope it has coop.

See, I don't mind if it's scripted in some places, there isn't complex enough ai to create certain situations. I assume that situations like in the video, you have a number of ways to kill/get to the guy, either by the scripted traffic lights, non scripted all out guns or wait inside the building some how by evading/taking down the sec guards discretely.

Who knows, but don't bash on scripting too much, I mean what was max payne? Relatively dumb ai that eventually ended up lemmings running into a meat grinder and scripted... events. :P

Yes.

See Diablo 3....

Again, without going there and derailing - Diablo 3's networkworking "structure" is certainly different to most games. With anything like Watch Dogs, I'd expect the game client to check against certain files and keys linked to a server sat somewhere in cyber space; whereas D3 is, for lack of a better word, streaming.

Plus I don't think this game would have as quite a big "user-base" as something like D3 would.

And everyone knows Blizzard isn't great at launches...

But yeah, game looks good :D

What is with the main characters ridiculous batman voice?

I remain sceptical, yes it "looks" nice but gameplay so far is a bit underwhelming in comparison.

I am also not massively impressed by the quantity of scripted take downs shown in that video, not to mention yet more bloody bullet time.

However that said I did like a few things, listening to phone conversations, changing the traffic lights etc, as long as you can do that wherever and whenever you like and it isn't purely scripted as a part of specific events, it will be very interesting.

Without trying to go there, and open that can of worms, and derail the thread - but even if that was the case, is that really a big problem in today's society?

Ubisoft are renowned for there servers being constantly down and being unable to retrieve your save games or even playing because of it.
