Watch Dogs - Ubisoft's Third Person Shooter

first tiem i clapped eyes on this was last night thanks to the ps4 unveil. to say im excited about it is an understatement! it looks amazing, a sort of combo between unfamous and deus ex. lovely :D

Those pc specs that pcgamer did, if they only used a GTX660 or there abouts, why does the PS4 look so much better than pc's do at the minute.

PC games dont look quite as good as PS4, yet most of us here are running a computer with a better or similar spec to the console.

What gives?

skip to 2.14 on the new gameplay footage and you see a weapon wheel.

You'll notice he's got a M4 varient and a sniper rifle in there, I was hoping this game would have had some sort of realism when it came to weapons (ala hitman pre absolution).

Hate it on games when you can carry a bazooka in your jacket.

Because the PC version will look slightly better, it's the evolution of games. I also suspect you've not really seen many examples of new "PC games" or engine possibilities, or see the subtle differences in what's actually better and not.
We've been dealing with bad port-overs who've had to generally keep back the graphics and development time, now that they have the ability for better graphics it's only now they catch up. (Side note: Graphics aren't an issue for me, gameplay mechanics and limitations are)

PC is still better, it's just up to the developers to use the resources we have, some do, some don't. A year down the line they'll (the new consoles) already be out of date but still kicking out good looking games, however then we'll start to see the effects of stationary hardware, next it is 2020 and we're in the same argument of "consoles are holding back the full potential of games". Remember it's just equivelant to your current medium-high pc.

Basically they're loosening the notch on the belt but the weight will catch up :p
But considering what they've been able to kick out on current-gen consoles devs do a great job of working with what they have, it just means they've had to scrape in other areas.

Was watching the new game play trailer earlier and my gf pipes up "that seems like a game i'd play". So either I'll have to build her a new rig or I get myself a new one and give her my hand-me-down current one hehe.

Because the current gen consoles have been holding us back.
Now that the next-gen consoles are out, we can finally advance in graphical fidelity

Or you could get a console and play other games together? :p

Also I heard that the whole "random event" showed in the demo was scripted and that the free-running showed will only be in some missions. Hopefully its just a rumour though :)

It looks impressive but I'm really not holding my breath. That new trailer is just the same old trailer with a new narrative. It looked far too scripted IMO. Time will tell, but I won't be buying it on release.
