Watch Dogs

you said it wont cut it?
and why would I use the same hardware for 10 years? that's just stupid. my hardware is already years old and out powers the ps4/x1 while costing me around £600. If I want to upgrade to keep playing games at 60fps and 1080 or 4k in the future I will. That's a choice I have and consoles will never have

why at 1.14 does it drop to 30fps?

i thought it did 60fps no problem?

Oh dear the PC elitist crowd are being upset.. So a 349 quid games console against a £250 - £400 GPU alone? Look, its a game, why does everyone get so defensive of their purchases..

I agree, leave a PC rig that runs this game at high settings at 60fps for 5 years and see what happens.. Geez, I've been a PC gamer all my life, PC systems just never seem to keep up in the long run. And I'm also tired of searching the net for solutions for PC gamers stuttering, tearing, graphics corruption if you want to really get down to the nitty gritty.. Sure PC systems can run a mean looking game, but my time is limited and I just want to game to run - and play on my sofa and I can't be arsed to even hook a laptop up to my telly.. I'm lazy like that : - )

PC gamers (/generalization)like to focus more on the hardware to help justify the expense in the first place. I recall feeling what a waste of money my 780 GTX was when all I was playing was older games and a few recent at 1440p which it couldn't handle that well. Also, if games are being limited by poor next gen consoles what was the point in me having it anyway? It's off topic anyway, go and talk specs and not games in the PC sub and I'll enjoy having multiple options.
I felt that having a powerful PC made me obsess over frame rates and details and totally detract from the thing I bought it for in the first place, playing games and not using them as benchmarks.

it drops for 1 second and is probably more due to the game being poor than anything to do with his hardware, he's recording and getting 60+ fps no problems. the same guy records at 4k and still gets 25-30fps

forgetting fps here, the graphics on that look really good when it comes to trees and grass, but when it comes to the fundamentals like the road and buildings it looks awful and that is meant to be 4K and ultra settings on a PC?

i think the game only really shines when it's raining and at night which has been previously noted by others.

during the day it's only one notch above GTA V on the PS3 tbh even when running ultra and 4K like that video.

the road in particular looks really poor i'm seeing leaves magically appear then disappear for instance

no arguments here, I'm not impressed graphically or by the game play regardless of what platform it's on

reminded of gta 4 on the PC a bit. you can mod the cars, road, lighting effects to make the game look fantastic(better than watchdogs by a mile) but no matter how much you mod it you are still going to encounter some lower res textures for something and it just drags the overall experience down with it.

Well, it's been confirmed by Jonathan Morin (Creative Director of Watch Dogs) that yes, 3 GBs of VRAM is limiting 780s/Tis (perhaps also 79xx/280 cards) in this game.

Lol. Delicious.

Cannot wait for these PC people to eat crow when their world crumbles with true next gen games destroying their systems.

get a life

Really looking forward to this, first game I'm buying since getting my PS4 ages ago (excluding the ones I got with it). :p

It looks like a modern version of Assassin's Creed, which probably isn't a bad thing. Roll on tomorrow!

If anyone ordered from Tesco it seems they failed to take into account the bank holiday and only dispatched the games yesterday. One of the chaps on my facebook is saying that they will not be processed until Tuesday by Royal mail at the earliest.

Hopefully this is not true. :(

It will be. Tesco do this all the time. Never trust them to get it to you for release day

Ive not went for a game at midnight in quite a while, but im hoping my local ASDA will let me have one at midnight.

EDIT - Closes at 8pm due to bank holiday, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

There is definitely merit in what you are saying. Time is the issue really, work and family leaves very little sometimes. That said me personally I enjoy solving stuff like this on PC. But it depends on how frequently it happens, luckily hardly at all in my case.

Last it happened with Deus Ex: Human Revolution Directors Cut for the PC. Strangest thing, I had to install and let Google Chrome run in the background for the game not to get lag spikes and run smooth. lol :p:D

People who go on about it is better on PC or on console make me laugh though. It is what it is, pretty much in all cases it will be better on PC, but it better be, why the hell else would one pay all that money for the graphics card etc. Do not forget, on the PC most will be running on much higher resolutions too. Each to their own, there is no right or wrong choice :)

Well unless the review scores tomorrow are horrendous, I think I'll probably end up just buying it tomorrow night after work. If it's amazing then great, if it's just average-ish then I'll get what I can from it and sell it on. It was one of the main games that made me want to get a PS4 in the first place (as opposed to waiting a while) so I feel like I might as well just go for it.

I think post-GTA5 (with it being so fresh in our memories) all open-world games are gonna pale in comparison, especially if they use the same kind of style

ps3ud0
