Was planning to keep the CPU and GPU (I7 920 DO@ 4.0ghz +Nvidia GTX 280) on the exisiting loop and add a new one just for the three motherboard block i will be fitting

You mentioned the rad has a hard enough time with your current CPU and GPU. i7 takes a lot more cooling. Imo your better having CPU in its own loop.

might need three loops if had seperate one for CPU! With three blocks on my motherboard I think my new pump (200l/hr) will be near its limits for keeping up a good flow. HAve good temeratures at the moment on my CPU/GPU loop from a 600l/hr pump.... still will have to see as there will be a big difference from and E8600@ 4ghz to an I7 at the same!

Yea, not much point having a loop just for the mobo blocks, they wont generate anywhere near as much heat as the CPU and GPU.

Be better having somthing like NB and CPU in one loop, GPU and mosfets in the other

I’m not sure about the flow rate vs heat output benefits of different loop configurations... with obviously have to do plenty of research before I take the plunge (could also take the opportunity to clean up my tubing as well!)

There is a massive difference between a E8600 at 4Ghz and a i7 at 4Ghz. E8600 is very cool running as CPU's go.

Not sure about that, my old E8600 used to chuck out an immense amount of heat when overclocked. Never tried i7 but I hear they do run very hot.

Yep...as the extra coolant went in the bubbles disappeared.

i have to say this has to be one of the most interesting i have ever read, some of the old cooling rigs are amasing and very inventive, we have it so easy these days don't we
