SSN just announced that Wayne Bridge has declared himself unavailable for England selection, stating that his position had become "untennable and potentially divisive".

Was just about to post the same thing...shame really as i think hes a pretty decent player but no thanks to that scumbag Terry..he probably feels that he cant play with the guy...dont blame him in the slightest as its bound to cause tensions within the dressing room.

Least it shouldn't negatively effect the dressing room.

Might affect the first team if Ash isn't fit though.

I don't rate Bridge that highly to be honest.

While this might not affect the first team, it might cause a headache for the second team / subs.

Best news I've heard so far this year. He's an absolutely dreadful player (basing this on hundreds of Chelsea performances and quite a few England games) and shouldn't be considered as a direct replacement for Cole anyway.

He made the right choice.

God I hope not. He's worse than Shorey, Young and Konchesky.

Bridge was the only choice behind Cole.

[edit]Actually, Baines isn't a bad shout, I was thinking Bale.

In terms of experience yes. But for me Baines and Warnock are far better players. Hell if Gibbs was fit I'd rather have him play.

Edit- :D Yes Bale is atrocious, and welsh :p

Coward? He made the decision for the right reasons.

I just think he's let down the side. If Terry can put it aside and professional about it then why can't Bridge? I admit, we've yet to see them actually try and play together so I guess it could have turned into handbags with JT but at least give it a go! With Cole looking unlikely we need cover at LB, I guess Baines is up for a shot now which is good though.

What a coward.

:/.

People need to see this in human terms instead of football terms. Bridge has made this decision based on human reasons not footballing ones.

Terry is a **** of the highest order and Bridge is the one who has his marriage and now, his international career ruined.

Awful. This does not go with my logic. Terry is the problem, not Bridge.

Not sure about Warnock but Baines is a pretty good shout actually.

Terry nobbed his bird, of course Terry can put it to one side

Yes. Terry is seemingly happy as larry, still has his wife and children and not much has changed really. Bridge has lost his wife and had his family torn apart ..

Bridge wasnt married to his ex...they were engaged as far as i recall.

Personally i think hes also made the right decision...imagine how it must feel for him to face Terry who banged his bird and it would have caused plenty of friction in the dressing room...if anything Terry is the one who should have been dumped from the England team....
