Bale has been playing decent this season so therefore he's a good left back. It's only the same people saying Rooney is up there with Ronaldo and Messi 'cos he's had a good few months (which everybody seems to be doing).

Shame Stephen Warnocks gone off the boil a bit at Villa. He was class for us last season and obviously had the disputable cap whilst at Ewood. Still, he'd be worth a shout as a cover player.

Not sure I agree with Bridge's decision, personally I think the pride of playing for your country in the biggest sporting tournament in the world over rules an awkwardness between two people.

Our all but slim chance at the world cup has pretty much gone now thanks to JT causing a huge split in the england side.

The newspapers will bring out some totally disruptive story about the England side as well about a month before it all starts like they did with Ericcson last time just to make sure they go out there in totally the wrong frame of mind.

I doubt JT really cares about it all though , he has managed to stop his wife divorcing him for millions so thats the main thing for him I guess.

What does he care about the millions of people hoping the England team put on a good show.

I think comparing Rooney to Bale is a massive disservice to Rooney.

I would rather have a career warming the subs bench and getting paid ridiculous amounts of money than having to work for a living!

Rooney blew hot and cold for the last few years, he manages to play well for a few months and there's a massive ****fest over him and exclaimations that he's the world's best, it's silly.

Same with Bale I suppose, he's had a few good months so by the same logic he has to be one of the best LB's in the league, when he's not, he's just in a period of good form like Rooney

In fairness Rooney was more important to manyoo than Ronaldo was, even when Ronaldo was at his best.

Bale, however, is just an appallingly bad defender.

Well Bale has been immensely important in our recent games since the beginning of the ACN, providing a fantastic attacking threat whilst being rock solid in defence. BAE was always defensively sound but lacked the threat going forward and the quality of crossing that Bale possesses. In his current form, Bale is top notch.
