Wayne Bridge pulls out of World Cup

I just think he's let down the side. If Terry can put it aside and professional about it then why can't Bridge? I admit, we've yet to see them actually try and play together so I guess it could have turned into handbags with JT but at least give it a go! With Cole looking unlikely we need cover at LB, I guess Baines is up for a shot now which is good though.
Im sure someone has already replied to this but I will go anyway. What has Terry got to put aside?? Terry isnt the one in the bad position, its Bridge. He has made the right choice given the rubbish he has had to go through over the past month. I really can't believe what some people come out with sometimes. lol

I don't think I could bring myself to shake his hand either tbh, professional or not.

Just interesting to see an indication of how they're going to handle it as obviously England would like the option of taking both players to the world cup.

Maybe a tad early for hand shakes though.

I say drop terry for england. We got upson, woodgate, cahill, davies, ferdinand? (or is his back to shot now?) lescott, jaggie.

Could we tell Teryy to sod off, practically beg Caragher to come back?

Terry held out his hand, Bridge ignored it.

Good on him i say...others will say its childish etc etc but if it was me id have probably knocked him to the ground:p....its good to see Bridge stick by his principles...if i was Terry id have been too embarrassed to even try or look him in the eye but the scumbag gets away with it whilst Bridge has to forcefully take himself out of the England squad.

Oh, theres a choice, drop an average defender and rely on the fitness of ferdinand who has barely played all season paired with one from the 7 awful players you have listed with the dreadful Bridge at left back?
Its a tough one, but I'd have to go with leaving Wayne "Exxon Valdez" Bridge behind and taking Terry.

To be fair Terry's been the worst of the lot of them (at least the few who are fit :() since the whole Bridge thing started...if his mind isn't in the right place by June we have to question whether he should play.

I thought Bridge handled it well. I do like people making out that Terry isn't at fault, if he wasn't such a **** and could keep his willy in his pants this wouldn't of happened.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, and I'll pretty much stick to this. Terry is over rated, he's not the best defender England have nor Chelsea.

King and Woodgate are always injured, which is a huge shame for the England squad and Spurs, because they're both two very good center backs.

Jaggie is a good defender, but hasn't played much this season. There are a couple of others that are decent, but not quite good enough for international level imo, Cahill is a good example.

Lesscott, is ****ing awful. End of.

Rio, when / if fit is the best England have, such a shame Woodgate / King are crippled.

I'd take King to the world cup, if Rio or Terry get banned for a game I can't think of a defender I'd prefer to fill in.

And if they got banned for 3? Would King be able to handle two or three quick games on the bounce? No. He's a crock and shouldn't get anywhere near the squad imo.

What on earth would we want Carragher for? He wasn't good enough before, he certainly isn't now.

We've got Upson who is OK but no better. Woodgate who is always injured. Cahill who has had injury issues this year. Davies (I assume you mean Curtis) who isn't all that either, Ferdinand who will go anyway as he's the captain, Lescott who isn't (IMO) good enough to start but might well go as he can play elsewhere too, and Jagielka who is a decent player.

We need Terry far more than Bridge.
