Whilst his defending isn't as good as attacking play to say it is appalling is a serious injustice.

He's the Welsh Roberto Carlos in all honesty. :p
 
thing is this is one of the best chances england has ever had in winning the world cup,but pathetic personal affairs could mess it all up.
 
I don't think England have any worse or better chance then the last World Cup to be honest, same thing is said everytime England go to an international competition.

We don't win them.
 
I think this England team is one of the best in a while but unfortunately Spain and Brazil are both extremely good too so England's chances remain the same to me - nil
 
Why are people not including Argentina in possible winners?

Brazil weren't very good going in to a World Cup a couple back, and they ended up winning? :confused:

I know Maradona is a mentalist, but still.
 
I watched about 4 or 5 of their qualifying games and not only were they 'not very good' they were GOD AWFUL. Some of the worst football games I have ever seen and they were second best in every single game they played as a team, they do have Messi though.
 
I saw most of their qualifying as well, indeed they weren't playing well.

Same was said of Brazil a few World Cups ago, Argentina could, they have the players to step up and do well.
 
Yeah. It'd be silly to count out the likes of Holland and Argentina, they have some top, top players who can decide the outcome of a game by themselves, regardless of how the managers set them up
 
Brazil, Spain, Italy and Germany will be the strongest contenders IMO. England, Argentina, Portugal next. Can't see Holland or France doing anything TBH.
 
With shorey, konchesky & Luke Young all being ok for the odd qualifying match I really wouldn't like to see them in a whole torny.

Warnock is the only choice if Cole is unfit, I would have baines as Warnock's backup if Cole cannot go to WC.

At least Warnock can play in midfield effectively as well. He could cover Barry's position as well couldn't he?

Also I'm not too worried, in the past we have had players do a good job for us when needed, Danny Mills replacing G. Neville in 2000 or 2002 springs to mind, he did alright. He was under pressure to perform as this was a time when Neville was one of the best defenders in europe.

Yeah, he is. No-one proposed him for the England team, but when someone mentioned Baines at first I thought Bale.

Can't believe he's even in the Welsh squad. They must be bad.

Yeh I think we will be fine! Warnock is a solid defender, more so than Cole but not as good at attacking obviously. This shouldn't be to much of a problem given the talent we have within midfield.

I would like to see Joe Cole back to form, he was brilliant in 2006, we need his creativity. Not convinced YET on Milner, Young, Walcott, Lennon on the big internation games.
 
Joe is back in the Chelsea side having missed out in the CL this week. Be good to see how he does.
