Wayne Rooney on course to start the world cup

Something fishy is going on - Man U's Mike Stone, the Dr in charge of Rooneys recovery has been sacked by the club. I think its something to do with the 'gleaming' reports of Rooneys recovery that have been in the media of late. THis has obviosly been declined by the club.

I think that Ferguson is doing everything in his power to stop Rooney playing for England this summer

they'll probably get a new doctor who'll keep his mouth shut in public..

I think they should play gerrard as a foward for a few matches to see what he is truely capable of, even if Rooney is 'fit' for the group matches, why risk it when we can have him on a lot better form and at less risk in the knock out stages?

I think we should do that, the group matches shouldnt prove too challenging, seems like we got a pretty good draw, even without rooney we still have lampard, gerrard and er... theo wallcott :\ well im sure one of them could score

Or one that likes Carlos, was nearly thrown out last summer after row with Carlos. Hated each other and after more diagreements hes gone.

3 people have fallen out with Carlos now and all three quickly gone or likely going (keane, stone and ruud). Although ruud has upset quite a few people so not the sole reason.

Papers running stories that rooney isnt happy with him leaving, well liked with the players.

I think we will be able to cope without him. Just push another midfielder in the starting line out. We have enough of them to score plenty of goals.

At least we are all getting a glimpse of what walcott will be like tonight(Including Sven). I think he will either be fantastic and run the defenders into the ground or he will just have an average world cup.

One think that we will be getting a lot of is penalties with Owen and Walcott, both are fast and neither have the strength to hold of the big defenders. I think that will work in our favour around the box with some nice free kicks.

Not so confident about us taking the penalties tho lol

We should all just wait for the Sun world exclusive tomorrow:

*Rooney in miracle recovery*

*Rooney defies science to fully recover 4 weeks ahead of schedule*

*Today we can reveal highly secret information on Rooney's progress, we spoke to some guy outside the hospital who knows the Doctor's best friend's sister. So it's true. Buy the Sun. Buy the Sun*

*World Cup is ours again, as Rooney runs out of the hospital and does cartwheels in the carpark to show the world he is fit.*

lol, thats a good one!

I think I can explain Rooney's miraculously fast recovery. Has any other football ever had a metatarsal injury and recovered on a diet of Mars bars and pies? ;) Also, Mars bars are now called 'Believe' so maybe the subliminal messaging played a large role in Roo's recovery.

Looks like an announcement will be made just after 9.30am.
Early reports say that the tests are unconclusive although other reports say he is well on the mend.
In other words they don't know. Pffffff.
