WBAC Values

Sold my X5 to WBAC on Saturday for £23,072. I was quoted £23,452 online and he knocked off the usual scratches, small chips etc. I think he was overly harsh on some of them but I was happy with the price and it was a painless 20 mins. I'd recommend it if you're happy with the price they offer after inspection.

how quick did you get the money ?

Actually one other thing that really annoyed me, which I forgot about; they charge you an admin fee of £80 or something similar. Why don't they just build this into the initial online quote?

The same reason they don't include the £25 I guess. Makes them less attractive vs the competition.

Another rambling comment from me, the garage I bought by replacement car from mentioned he would match or beat WBAC. So when I gave him their valuation he got slightly agitated and said that he wouldn't be able to match it at all (offered me £1k less) and said WBAC are trying to manipulate the market with their buying power. So I said, surely that's good for your right now as you can charge more for your current stock and just buy accordingly for future stock but he wasn't convinced.
I have no idea about the trade side of the market but it certainly seems the case with WBAC.

TBF I've heard rumors that WBAC is buying a lot of the stock to sit on in anticipation of prices going up even further in the next 6-9 months

I was looking at an abarth 595 competizione the other day for £9k from a garage which when plumbed into WBAC came out at £10,600... Did make me wonder if there was profit to be made with a haggle from the garage and anticipating a small haggle from WBAC.

Valuation for the Aygo has stayed the same at £7k however managed to sell private for £7300 so happy with the result.

Means the car has lost £1500 in just under 2 years of ownership.

Covid has helped with the cheap ownership of the car. Actual cost of around £121 per month taking into account car payment, tax, tyres and service. Exactly what I was after when purchasing the car.

It’s an interesting point. My new car is due to arrive in September, so the gamble is to sell now while prices are strong or hold on until prices are a) ridiculous or b) dropping back to normal
