WC virgin needs some advice...

I got a backplate arriving tomorrow :) Well it should... None on OCuk so had to get from somewhere that sounds like "pan"...

Ok nice one might as well get the rest sorted ready as I want to see more :P

Maybe you should create a project/build log in the project forum.

well, if your careful and have a friend to help, i'm sure it could be done :D

HAHA maybe buts its all good and when my next rad goes it then it will be impossible without a drain.

So lgevans when is the backplate in for delivery and what about your res when is that getting changed?

Nothing wrong with pulling air into the case over your rads and using the rear exhaust fan to push the warm air out the back. Temperature difference between air going in and air going out isnt that big a deal. Plus more fans blowing in than blowing out means positive pressure, helping to keep the inside of your PC dust free.

What may be a factor is that fans pushing air onto a radiator will trap dust between the fans and the rad, which may be harder to clean than fans pulling air thru a radiator - where the dust settles on the other side of the radiator...

My first build I had 3 fans pushing onto a top mounted rad, and every 6 months or so I need to take the fans off to clean.

My new build pulls air instead, with an air filter on top of the radiator, so all I do is vacuum the filters.

New res arriving tomorrow... Phobya black nickel 150. Also "pan" should be sending the backplate today (fingers crossed)

I am nights from Thursday night for 3 which is why I'm so keen to get this off the ground... At lease tomorrow I can have the loop running to clean it out prior to final build :D

The fans are now pulling air over the rad into the case... as is the bottom case fan... and the back fan is the exhaust.
