WD TV Live kaput. I use it to watch videos or look at things from my Hard drive on the TV.

Any alternatives i should look at?
 
The mxq boxes are good, firetv, firestick it go through dlna if you have a smart tv.

I want one that i can plug my hard drive into and watch the videos / content on the TV. Which model would you suggest as i have no clue. Ta
 
TV has HDMI

WD Live TV unit i have has just died. It was never consistent anyway. Slow and stuttery even though i had a fast HD connected to it.
 
Well, if you're playing from your hard drive I assume your PC is left on? You could install Plex Server on your PC, it's a free download.
 
Thought about a Roku?
You have the added bonus of the main Catch-up TV channels and access to Netflix etc.
This depends on the type of files you will be playing, check on the Roku site for lists.
 
I want something i can connect my hard drive so as i can watch the content on the TV. Simple plug and play.
